One method of Hermeneutical understanding of Matthew 16:18
is to do a word study of all the scriptures which were then known
as the Holy Word of G-d when Yah'shua spoke these words.
This will allow one to understand that all of the Holy Word of G-d
was inspired by YHvH; the whole counsel of G-d.
The only conclusion that one can come to unless you are
predisposed to believe in man's tradition over the Holy Word of G-d

Secondly, this is exactly what I complained about on another thread. A bunch of hypocritical "American Jewish leaders" (most of whom are probably as liberal as all get-out) don't want liberal anti-Catholicism compared to traditional chr*stian anti-Semitism. But guess what? Both are visited on people who refuse to "update" their religions. I think it is quite apropos to compare liberal fury at recalcitrant chr*stianity with earlier chr*stian fury at recalcitrant Jews.
Of course, Jewish history has been reinterpreted entirely so that now everyone is taught that the Jews have suffered for the modern concept of "religious freedom" which was totally unknown in Biblical times. Jews suffered for the Torah, not for Voltaire's view of the world. But just try to get that through anyone's head in this day and time.
