Mormon church gives first lady volume of family history
WASHINGTON -- For the second time in less than a year, Mormon church leaders have met with a President Barack Obama family member in the White House to present a volume of history.
First lady Michelle Obama was presented with a volume of her family history Wednesday morning by Elder Dallin H. Oaks of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
Also participating was Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev.
In July, Mormon church President Thomas S. Monson joined Elder Oaks and Reid in presenting the U.S. president with his family history.
"Last year, the church compiled several volumes for President Barack Obama," Reid said. "This year, I thank Elder Oaks for sharing our faith's tradition of genealogical research with the first lady and her family.
"This documentation of their lineage will be cherished and passed on for future generations," he said. "I am honored that the church can play a part in documenting the history of the first family."

oh...okay - now THAT’S moderate, right there...
hmmm.
Wonder how one replaces even-handed (or mostly hands-off) moderating for the sort of presumptive interrogatives that are usually said to invite moderating activity in the first place?
Methinks sterling examples of “hateful mockery” occurred when one Joseph Smith articulated that:
he had learned for himself that Presbyterianism was wrong,
and when he later referred to all of Christianity, (outside of mormonism) as apostate, and being made up of “Whoredoms”.
“Mountain Meadows Massacre” was also sort of, kind of hateful, and made a mockery of native Americans, according to historical accounts of white men disguising themselves as Indians in an effort to cast blame away from themselves.

..sorry that MORMON records tend to offend you. Sorry. I don't have the latest recording of the tabernacle choir Homer.

Oooh, look! Its our resident social justice seeker. Here to impart his judgement against anyone who he himself has deemed to offend those with thin skin. Im so looking forward to the words of wisdom or a really neat and clean witness that will be imparted as part of a reasonable and logical discussion as opposed to disruptive, snarky comments that offer nothing to the topic. Social justice seekers hang out here II: www.4democraticunderground.comYou seem to be somwhat dense as well as angry. My "social justice" comment came on a day when the words were predominant in the news. I offered it pretty much as a joke. But i don't expect you to comprehend much. But thanx.

You got the 'taking names' part down. When does the 'kicking ass' part begin? Trust me i've already been doin' that. Seems to be working too. :-)

Especially since Im just a hateful, mean, vicious and nasty apostate who spreads lies and misinformation.
Now we're making progress. See its not as hard to comprehend as you might think.

I guess this'll have to suffice until you do...
Praise to the man who communed with Jehovah!
Jesus annointed that Prophet and Seer.
Blessed to open the last dispensation,
Kings shall extol him, and nations revere.
Chorus
Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven!
Traitors and tyrants now fight him in vain.
Mingling with Gods, he can plan for his brethren;
Death cannot conquer the hero again.
Praise to his mem'ry, he died as a martyr;
Honored and blest be his ever great name!
Long shall his blood, which was shed by assasins,
Plead unto heav'n while the earth lauds his fame.
Chorus
Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven!
Traitors and tyrants now fight him in vain.
Mingling with Gods, he can plan for his brethren;
Death cannot conquer the hero again.
Great is his glory and endless his priesthood.
Ever and ever the keys he will hold.
Faithful and true he will enter his kingdom,
Crowned in the midst of the prophets of old.
Chorus
Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven!
Traitors and tyrants now fight him in vain.
Mingling with Gods, he can plan for his brethren;
Death cannot conquer the hero again.
Sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven;
Earth must atone for the blood of that man.
Wake up the world for the conflict of justice.
Millions shall know 'Brother Joseph' again.
Chorus
Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven!
Traitors and tyrants now fight him in vain.
Mingling with Gods, he can plan for his brethren;
Death cannot conquer the hero again.
