The Truth Still Tying Its Shoes: How the ObamaNation Uses Its Pet Pseudo-Catholics [Catholic Caucus]
Letter to the Bishop of Knoxville | March 19, 2010 | Mrs. Don-o

Posted on 03/19/2010 12:48:03 PM PDT by Mrs. Don-o

Dear Bishop Stika.

Is this another case of "A lie can run around the world while the Truth is still tying its shoes"?

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs posts "Catholic approval" and hundreds of people instantly retweet it as if it's true. The whole website becomes a tweetfest about Catholics approving the Senate Health Care Reform.

PressSec Post: Another very important health care development - Catholics back health bill
http://bit.ly/csfmHu

Instantly, Gibbs has tons of support. It’s as if the flood gates open.

Google reports almost 12,000 results (pages and sites) for keywords "59,000 nuns health care"

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft%3Aen-us%3AIE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7SUNA_en&q=59%2C000+nuns+health+care&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=

And then ...the USCCB issues ....a press release! (How many people saw this? Dozens, do you think?)

March 18, 2010
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Clarification

Washington—A recent letter from Network, a social justice lobby of sisters, grossly overstated whom they represent in a letter to Congress that was also released to media.

Network’s letter, about health care reform, was signed by a few dozen people, and despite what Network said, they do not come anywhere near representing 59,000 American sisters.

The letter had 55 signatories, some individuals, some groups of three to five persons. One endorser signed twice.

There are 793 religious communities in the United States.

The math is clear. Network is far off the mark.

Sister Mary Ann Walsh
Director of Media Relations, USCCB

The game so far:

The Senate bill contains protections neither for life nor for conscience.

The Federal Government--- without reference to "Sanctity of Life" or "Conscience" ---becomes the by-far dominant (if not sole) definer of healthcare, regulator of healthcare, and funding mechanism for healthcare.

(Not to mention that the Federal Government becomes the sole provider of student loans to college and university students. This is in the Health Care bill. Did you happen to notice that?)

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/Federal-student-loan-takeover-attached-to-health-care-bill----what-could-go-wrong-87460742.html

So, what are the chances that Church-related people and institutions will not be suborned as dispensers of contraceptives, sterilization, abortion, infanticide, lab-based reproductive technologies, gay employment/benefits affirmative action, gender-reassignment jiggery-pokery, embryo-chopping research, assisted suicide, and terminal sedation?

What are the chances that Catholic Hospitals, Clinics, Counseling Services, Nursing Programs, Medical Schools and the like, will be able to maintain any moral autonomy or ethical integrity?

Reference slang dictionary: snowball, hell.

Is this the end of the great work accomplished over the last century and a half by our great Catholic Saints in America --- Elizabeth Seton, Frances Xavier Cabrini, Katherine Drexel, John Neumann, the Mother-Foundresses and the Builder-Bishops?

Is this the Kulturkampf gearing up to take over--- co-opt, usurp, absorb --- all our Church institutions, with a not-insignificant fraction of the "Church institutions" (including certain departments of the USCCB) signaling, "Come and get it"?

Please, somebody, tell me I'm wrong.

- St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, pray for us.
- St. John Neumann, pray for us.
- Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha, pray for us.
- St. Peter Claver, pray for us.
- St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, pray for us.
- Blessed André Bessette, pray for us.
- Blessed Marianne Cope, pray for us.
- St. Katherine Drexel, pray for us.
- Blessed Damien of Molokai, pray for us.
- Ss. Isaac Jogues, Rene Goupil, Jean de Brébeuf, and Companions, pray for us.

- All you American Saints and Servants of God, pray for us.

- St. Joseph, guardian of the household of the Lord, pray for us.

I’ve never seen a bishop do that, except maybe for an illegal immigrant rally. But I agree that they should.

I pray that God will give us the wisdom that we seem not to possess and the ability to do His will. I fear for my country.

It has never been so clear as it is today, that the devil is working double-time to destroy everything in his path. He is strong and powerful, because Christ allows him to be. We, however, have a stronger opponent in Christ Jesus, BUT we need to call upon Him.

Mother Teresa of Calcutta wrote my husband years ago (link), and suggested he read Fr. John A. Hardon's work for answers regarding the Catholic Church. Since I take nothing Mother Teresa says lightly, I searched out Fr. Hardon, and in 1996 (he's since passed away), he had the answer to ending abortion, but 14 years later it still exists. Could it be that people in general do not listen to great Catholics (Blessed Mother Teresa is on her way to sainthood!) until their heads are literally in their laps?

My daughter told me when she was only 4 years old (she's 19 now), "If you listened harder to what Jesus is trying to tell you, you'd feel better." She has no recollection of saying those words. We have no doubts they came straight from heaven, through her, to me. I've been trying to "listen harder" ever since. Here's Father John A. Hardon on abortion:
"Let me repeat in the clearest words in my disposal. I would restate our thesis in two propositions. Proposition #1 There is no stopping abortion without an ocean of grace from Jesus Christ. No way will human means stop abortion. #2 The principle source of this grace is the Holy Eucharist." [emphasis; mine] Fr. Hardon also puts great emphasis on Reconciliation at the link ...
Pray to kill the bill/save the babies

Daily Mass is available at most parishes.

"She has no recollection of saying those words. We have no doubts they came straight from heaven, through her, to me."

Without doubt. It is a gift of the spirit, and known as "a word of wisdom." They just pop out of people's mouths when they are needed.

Mrs D these groups were started during the 60-70’s Womens lib, radical welfare rights groups. The Church took no action then and they have festered under the surface for decades. They NOW feel embolden to show their TRUE nature.

They never disdavowed abortion forcefully.

I just posted this earlier today to a different thread, but I think it is applicable here. While the dems spend their time on this health care takeover, they leave it to us to worry about employment for Americans in these troubled economic times.

Here's a prayer to Saint Joseph that my daughter gave me when I bought my own business a little while ago:

Prayer to St. Joseph for Employment

Dear Saint Joseph, you were yourself once faced with the with the responsibility of providing the necessities of life for Jesus and Mary. Look down with fatherly compassion upon me in my anxiety with my present inability to support my family.

Please help me find gainful employment very soon, so that this great burden of concern will be lifted from my heart and that I am soon able to provide for those whom God has entrusted to my care.

Help me to guard against discouragement, so that I may emerge from this trial spiritually enriched and with even greater blessings from God. Amen.

There is an ever present battle of good and evil. IMO, there is no fence straddling or leaning, you're one way or the other.

Every literate person has the ability to know right from wrong. Prayers won't help these people. Being judged by their maker, will.

The nun who spoke with Cavuto today didn't know who Fr. Frank Pavone. I guess she hasn't seen EWTN or visited www.priestsforlife.com. If anyone knows who that nun was today, she needs to watch EWTN and visit priests4life because she's saying things in Jesus' name but it's ashame because Obama regretted voting to save Terri Schiavo and she trusts Obamacare to not cover abortions. Further, the nun today said 50 million would be covered, amen.

The Cavuto nun is uninformed imo.

The radicalized nuns likely haven't ever watched EWTN. I'm a Lutheran and I watch EWTN. EWTN's in Alabama with their news bureau in D.C.

Oh that goes without saying. They also managed to get the Habits removed.
So the NUNS could fit in with the groups.

People think groups like this are just an annoyance. Surprise.
EWTN is very calming, I love to watch it.
