Nothing less than a complete apostasy from the Christian religion would warrant the establishment of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.History of the Church, Volume 1, p. XL
According to LDS Scripture, the Apostle John (D&C 7) and the three Nephites (3 Nephi 28) never died. So, how could Gospel authority have left the earth, needing restoration?
in the latter times some shall depart from the faith 1 Timothy 4:1
If only some would depart from the faith, how could a complete apostasy have occurred? Did Jesus fail to preserve His Church against the gates of hell?
I will build MY church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18
...that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once [for all time] delivered unto the saints. Jude 3
...but though we, or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:9
"We are HAPPY to LET people worship as they please"?
The Law of the Harvest Practical Principles of Effective Missionary Work
-SNIP-
The publication of the Preach My Gospel manual in September 2004 represented a major step forward for the LDS missionary program. For the first time in the history of the standardized missionary program, all LDS missionaries were educated about their own essential role in ensuring convert activity through quality prebaptismal preparation.
-SNIP-
Other denominations lack the full gospel, modern revelation, and the divine authority that are necessary to build Christ's Kingdom on Earth. LDS and non-LDS missionary efforts are not equivalent. Nonetheless, it would be a mistake to categorically dismiss positive lessons from other groups without careful investigation and analysis. Selected items are presented in the same spirit that Joseph Smith proclaimed: "Have the Presbyterians any truth? Yes. Have the Baptists, Methodists, etc., any truth? Yes. They all have a little truth mixed with error. We should gather all the good and true principles in the world and treasure them up, or we shall not come out true 'Mormons.'"[3] Citations from successful evangelists of other faiths are used to corroborate many of my longstanding observations in an LDS setting. Statistical comparisons with other faiths are also employed, as claims of "rapid growth" are meaningless without contextualizing benchmarks. To make comparisons as appropriate as possible, high-commitment groups such as Jehovah's Witnesses and Seventh-Day Adventists are most frequently used in comparisons rather than low-commitment Protestantand evangelical groups.
Sorry, Normandy...THIS doesn't sound like such a benign, "We'll let others worship as they please" tactic. It sound much more like a marketing tactic by a for-profit organization.
I have seen churches split over carpet and pews but the fundamental belief was the same.
You are the only mormon who I have ever knew who said "We Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior, Redeemer - the Great Jehovah in the Old Testament and the Savior in the New Testament
My uncle the former bishop makes fun of me and calls me a "primitive believer" because I believe that Jesus Christ is Savior.
As a side note even though these churches may have different styles of music worship or carpet or length of service or when they meet the bottom line is they are all part of the Body of Christ and associate with each and consider each other family. I do not see this when say someone leaves lds.
“the mormons are attacking the RCC every day in every way trying to steal the RCC sheep. That doesn’t make for “good neighbors”.”
If people want to believe in Mormonism which claims historical authenticity, despite there not being one single piece of evidnce supporting it - that’s their business. We don’t need such unthinking people. Jedi is closer to being a real religion than Mormonism.
Agreed. See my post #141.
As a Pentecostal (type) I have never once heard that you need to “lead a clean and pure life in order to be saved”.

Exactly, it flies in the face of EVERYTHING in the Bible and the beliefs of ALL Christians.
Reformation, yes.
Even the Catholic Church acknowledged the need for reform and it made reforms.
I'll take that as an "Duh, I dunno" as well. :-)
Philip, the Ethiopian, and the Holy Spirit
Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark blot,
To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, though tossed about
With many a conflict, many a doubt,
Fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind;
Sight, riches, healing of the mind,
Yea, all I need in Thee to find,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, Thy love unknown
Hath broken every barrier down;
Now, to be Thine, yea, Thine alone,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, of that free love
The breadth, length, depth, and height to prove,
Here for a season, then above,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come!
Do as you will.
Good luck in your eternal search for “Social Justice”.
You will have much better luck with people of similar opinion in search of the same here...

The same crowd waiting for him in Azotus. I get it.
Good luck to you as well in your quest for "my Jesus is better than yours" lol
Thats the one...
Its usually sung during an alter call/invitation for salvation
You notice there are no words in the song about being cleaned up first BEFORE you come...
JUST AS I AM
Does your bishop know that you are usurping the role of a mormon priest ???
**
making it personal
BTW LDS women have all the knowledge of the Priesthood
“May the force of the mormon pesthood be with you” ???
I don’t understand your answer.
The Ethiopian wasn’t in Azotus.
Maybe, but you aren't permitted to use it.
