If you call what we do “cherry picking” then what do you call all the “cherry picking” of the quotes by those against the Church?

Not seen this phrase lately - I thought it was superceded by OUT OF CONTEXT like Resty complains about all the time; and then FAILS to post the stuff IN context so her whine could be justified.

The logical fallacy of “cherry picking”

Cherry picking

Cherry picking is deliberately picking out the data or scientific studies that support your view, while ignoring the data or studies that oppose your view.

So Elsie, quoting something purposefully out of context is definitely a subclass “cherry picking” which a class of logical fallacies known as “Fallacies of evidence and causality.”
