Sex abuse scandals in the Roman Catholic Church are proof that that "the Devil is at work inside the Vatican", according to the Holy See's chief exorcist.
Father Gabriele Amorth, 85, who has been the Vatican's chief exorcist for 25 years and says he has dealt with 70,000 cases of demonic possession, said that the consequences of satanic infiltration included power struggles at the Vatican as well as "cardinals who do not believe in Jesus, and bishops who are linked to the Demon".
He added: "When one speaks of 'the smoke of Satan' [a phrase coined by Pope Paul VI in 1972] in the holy rooms, it is all true including these latest stories of violence and paedophilia."
He claimed that another example of satanic behaviour was the Vatican "cover-up" over the deaths in 1998 of Alois Estermann, the then commander of the Swiss Guard, his wife and Corporal Cedric Tornay, a Swiss Guard, who were all found shot dead. "They covered up everything immediately," he said. "Here one sees the rot".

To speak with the power of the Holy Spirit, one must speak the word of God. Reading it directly out of the book is the best way.
Heheheh
Certainly declaring and citing Scripture outloud is a powerful strategy and force.
“how can you have a catholic bishop who doesnt believe in Jesus?”
I do not know if there are “liberals” or modernists in any seminaries of the Pentecostal movement (Assemblies of God, Four Square, Church of God; other). Perhaps Quix can inform us, so I have pinged him here.
It needs to be said that there certainly are these types who have infiltrated many Baptist seminaries from as far back as the turn of the 20th century. This is chief among the reasons for the upstart of the “independent” Baptist movement, especially under historic figures like J. Frank Norris of Fort Worth, and Robert Ketchum up in the north (I forgot which state; maybe Wisconsin or Minnesota) -— we’re talking about 1920’s through 1950s.
There’s still enough
‘fire and brimstone’
‘fear of The Lord’
‘Fire of Holy Spirit’
type leaders at the tops of such Pentecostal denominations that anyone who gets identified as not believing the major doctrines of the faith and the mostly literal interpretation and infallible Word of God gets booted out pretty quickly.
They get defrocked quickly, as well.
Sometimes Presbyters in local [usually State wide areas]
will defrock pastors a bit too much for not agreeing with the Presbyter’s pet notions. Most of the time, that’s not the case. Folks are defrocked only for disbelieving the basic doctrines of the faith.
Freep-mail me to get on or off my pro-life and Catholic List:
Please ping me to note-worthy Pro-Life or Catholic threads, or other threads of general interest.
Amen.
From Calvin's sermon on Deuteronomy regarding Gods First Commandment requiring that God alone be worshiped...
We see the horrible confusion that is in Popery: but yet, there is not any doctrine to pluck men back to God. Nay, rather, that doctrine which is there -- draws them quite and clean [away] from Him. And we see that the Devil has gotten such footing there -- that all is full of trumpery and illusions, and the living God is quite forsaken.
“&c. . . .type leaders at the tops of such Pentecostal denominations that anyone who gets identified as not believing the major doctrines of the faith and the mostly literal interpretation and infallible Word of God gets booted out pretty quickly.”
INDEED.
Thanks for your kind reply.
One of the hallmarks of Pentecostalism
is a fierce believe in
THE WORD OF GOD—SCRIPTURE—CHRIST THE LIVING WORD as expressed in scripture as the foundation Stone.
That anything that doesn’t clearly and solidly rest on Scripture—regardless of the “Holy Spirit goose bumps” is at least suspect if not dangerous and fit only for quick rejection.
You sound like an extreme ignoramous. Read the Bible, please.
It’s when he speaks on matters of faith and morals, if I remember it right. Seems to me that covers everything he would be inclined to speak on.
If the devil wasn’t at least trying to work there then I would be worried because that would mean that he has them in his pocket or that he is just not concerned about what they do.
I.e. the more effect a person has for the kingdom of God the more they can expect to receive demonic attention!
Mel
Amen.
That Calvin was one wise preacher.
“That anything that doesnt clearly and solidly rest on Scriptureregardless of the Holy Spirit goose bumps is at least suspect if not dangerous and fit only for quick rejection.”
The Lord said to Satan, Where have you come from?
Satan answered the Lord, From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it.
THANKS for your kind reply.
Leni
One must be prepared and well armed when confronting demonic spirits. There were people in the Bible who were casting out demons in Jesus’ name. There was also one where the demon said “Jesus, I know. But who are you?” He then beat the crap out of the guy.
