The Holy Ghost Testifies of Truth -Mormon- (OPEN)
Ensign Magazine ^ | March, 2010

“The Holy Ghost Testifies of Truth,” Ensign, Mar 2010, 10–11

The Holy Ghost is the third member of the Godhead. He is a personage of spirit, without a body of flesh and bones (see D&C 130:22). He is often referred to as the Spirit, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, the Spirit of the Lord, or the Comforter. He works in perfect unity with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.1

As a personage of spirit, the Holy Ghost can be in only one place at a time, but His influence can be everywhere at the same time.2

President Joseph Fielding Smith (1876–1972) taught, “Through the Holy Ghost the truth is woven into the very fibre and sinews of the body so that it cannot be forgotten.”3

It is also through receiving the Holy Ghost when we repent and are baptized that we may be sanctified. Sanctification is the process of becoming free from sin—pure, clean, and holy—through the Atonement of Jesus Christ (see Moses 6:59–60). We are sanctified as we yield our hearts to God (see Helaman 3:35).

“The Holy Ghost shall be thy constant companion, and thy scepter an unchanging scepter of righteousness and truth; and thy dominion shall be an everlasting dominion, and without compulsory means it shall flow unto thee forever and ever” (D&C 121:45–46).

After I, Nephi, having heard all the words of my father, … which he spake by the power of the Holy Ghost, which power he received by faith on the Son of God— … I, Nephi, was desirous also that I might see, and hear, and know of these things, by the power of the Holy Ghost, which is the gift of God unto all those who diligently seek him” (1 Nephi 10:17).

Hey the mormons are now (after the fact) claiming that their mormon god warned one of them about the Chilian earthquake and they just told their own missionaries that it was coming ...

and didnt tell the Chilian non-mormons so that they could be prepared also...

Well an American mormon missionary got himself beat up by some chilians who say that America caused the earthquake...

1. Why didnt the mormon god warn him ahead of time ???

2. were the Chilians angry because they werent told by the mormons ahead of time ???

3. In a way, the American mormons did cause the earthquake by keeping vital life or death info to themselves...they could have stop it from being so bad and people dying and injured by sharing what they knew...

Selfish mormons...

Is this sarcasm?
If not how embarrassing for lds that they let all these people die when they could have helped.

“As a personage of spirit, the Holy Ghost can be in only one place at a time,”

The Holy Spirit is God, as the father is God, and Jesus Christ is God - omnipotent, omnipresent. Omnipresent - ubiquitous - everywhere at the same time.

I saw that. If this mission president knew ahead of time (by revelation) then he could have saved other lives, but apparently he and his wife prepared the missionaries and not much else.

The MORMON god chose NOT to warn JS about going to that jail; so why should he (she - it) change it's mind these days?

There you go again - showing what you do NOT know about us MORMONS!

Our Living Prophet® can't go jabbering about, hollering, "I've got a word from god!" without our 12 yesmen unanimously agreeing "thus saith the lord"; so why do you think a mere mission president can?  I would imagine that HE would have to have even MORE than 12 folks agree that he heard something.

Sorry; not yesmen, but Quorum of Twelve.)

PS - besides; only the MAIN Dude show be hearing from GOD anyway!!!

CORRECTION:

The MORMON god chose NOT to warn JS about going to that jail; so why should he (she - it - THEM) change it's/THEIR mind(s) these days?

What is even more amazing is that the posters to this thread celebrated the selfishness.

In 1844, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the authorities in Carthage, Hancock County, Illinois. That same month, Smith passed away during an important civic function held in his honor when the excitable group who had come to visit him pressed too many into the room he was in and his death resulted.

You've been reading the Deseret Noose agin, haven't ya?

“Don’t forget the fourth member of the Godhead the Divine Mother. Without the Mother there is no Son.”

Without a sarcasm tag some might take you blasphemy seriously.

Seriously, now, who’s the Holy Spirit supposed to be married to? Mormons have Jesus + Mary Magdalen, Holy Father + Holy Mother, Holy Spirit + ?

Of course, the Holy Ghost doesn’t have a body, which is supposed to be a requirement of godhood, too.

The Divine Mother is quite the opposite of a ghost, she reperesents all that is physical. While the Holy Ghost is the comforter for our spirit, the Mother is the comforter for our physical existence. She is revered in Catholicsm as the Blessed Virgin, and in the East as Shiva or Parvatti.

As an interesting aside to this, speaking in broad terms, the GOP is representive of the Father (law givers), and the Democrats are representative of the Mother (care of the poor and children). Extreme perversions of the Father are anarchists and conspirists, who are anti-father (anti-Bush). More accepted perversions are corporate greed and profligate spending.

Extreme perversions of the Mother are gays and pornography.
Established perversions are entitlement programs.

The more out of balance the parties (and ergo the people) get, as a result of rejection of Jesus Christ, the more precarious our country becomes, as a free society is dependent on moral underpinnings.
