This is a thread for the live streaming of Heart of the Matter an outreach to the LDS. A link with the archive will be posted when it is up.
throw oneself on a burning pyre? How would I know? LOL
Well and truly stated.
LOL.
But when folks FINALLY realize to just WHO or WHAT they made those ‘vows’ to...

Yep. I was shocked when “Satan” refers to the green apron as the emblem of *his* power and priesthoods and then commands the LDS temple patrons to put on their green apron.

In fact, I dont know if resty has either.

Actually, IIRC she has mentioned attending the temple on here.
And considering her age, status and how long she has been a member, it would be very odd indeed if she hasn’t been.
Or Totally Brainwashed Mormon
Sad but true, I have had the opportunity to disciple new believers and it is such a wonderful experience, but too often we leave them to learn on their own and many do not.
Those who are not properly grounded are more likely to fall away.
I know all kinds of life-long LDS members who have never attended the Temple. Many of them life right here is the heart of Utah, where travel isn’t and issue.
It becomes more of an issue the farther from Utah you go. I know resty lived in New York and Michigan. There are temples nearby in NY.
Which Temples have you attended resty?
It doesn't surprise me at all, and is probably quite accurate as far as my acquaintances go.
Wow, while I was looking up the percentage of Temple attenders, I found this little gem. Oh boy, I’m glad I’m out.
Temple Attendance
Let us be a temple-attending people. Attend the temple as frequently as personal circumstances allow. Keep a picture of a temple in your home that your children may see it. Teach them about the purpose of the house of the Lord. Have them plan from their earliest years to go there and to remain worthy of that blessing. — Howard W. Hunter

“Current Temple Recommend”
Passport to Exaltation
“I make you a promise that if you will go to the House of the Lord, you will be blessed, life will be better for you... partake of all of the marvelous blessings that are yours to be received there. Now is the time to get your lives in order that you may be worthy to go to the House of the Lord. Get a temple recommend. Get it now. If every man and woman... would make that resolution and go to work to be worthy of a temple recommend, your lives would be blessed, your homes would be blessed, you would feel the spirit of the Lord in your homes.”
- President Gordon B. Hinckley -

John H. Groberg and a Temple Recommend
Stories from LDS Church History
David Kenison,
25% of total members worldwide, i can see. But for adults who are active members I can easily see the number be higher.
Also, they have relaxed situational requirements (not worthiness requirements) in the last 20 years or so to get more people to go through partly because it IS harder to leave once you go through.
For example, I have a friend who is LDS and married outside the temple to an LDS man (who was not worthy at the time). Her Bishop approved her to go through without her husband because her husband made no signs after 5 years of marriage to get back to being ‘worthy’ to take her to the temple.
I also had another friend who was an older widow (convert) and she went to the Temple right after her one year date because she had no intention of getting married again and wanted the work done for her husband.
that’s a keeper. I am so glad I am out as well.

Sounds like a multi level marketing sales pitch.
Only 35% of LDS members world wide are active in the church at all, from some recent estimates.
You might be surprised at how few ward members actually hold or have held Temple Recommends. I doubt if it is 1/2 of the adults. This is information I received from my brother who is serving in his Bishopric.
It may have just been the wards I was in. :)
I found this too:
It seems as if the LDS Church might be governing by poll. How Clintonesque.
