Leader Makes "Historic Visit" to Israel: Says His "Greatest Dream" Is for Israel to Join the EU.
Worldview Times ^ | Feb 3rd, 2010 | Joel Rosenberg

Posted on 02/03/2010 9:38:07 AM PST by TaraP

On Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu welcomed Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and the Italian cabinet for a series of joint meetings with the Israeli cabinet.

He also hosted a gala dinner for the Italian delegation at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem. Netanyahu described the leader from Rome as "one of Israel's greatest friends, a courageous leader who is a great champion of freedom and a great supporter of peace."

Netanyahu said this despite the fact that the Associated Press reports Italy is the leading trading partner with Iran in the E.U.

Berlusconi was one of only three leaders in Western Europe who voted against the anti-Israel U.N. resolution last fall regarding the Goldstone Commission Report (the other two were German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Netherlands Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende).

Rome was Netanyahu's first stop on his first trip to Europe upon becoming Prime Minister in 2009, specifically to see Berlusconi. Likewise, Avigdor Lieberman headed straight to Rome to see Berlusconi as his first trip as Israeli Foreign Minister.

"I can think of very few nations who have made such a contribution to Western culture as our two nations. In Rome and Jerusalem, the foundations for Western culture were laid," Netanyahu said Monday night.

Berlusconi, who brought eight senior members of his government, returned the compliment saying that Rome considers Jerusalem one of its closest allies and considers Israel a part of Europe. "As long as I am one of the shapers of politics," the Roman leader stated, "my greatest dream is to include Israel among the European Union countries." He invited Netanyahu to come to Italy for another round of meetings.

The meetings were described by some in the media as "historic." They also had echoes of Bible prophecy. The Hebrew Prophet Daniel indicates that in the "last days" Israel will sign a peace treaty with her many neighbors that appears to be brokered or negotiated or confirmed in some way by a leader from Rome (see Daniel chapter nine).

It's too soon to say definitively that yesterday's events were in any way part of those prophecies, but they were certainly intriguing to those tracking geopolitical events in light of End Times prophecies.

The 9th chapter of Daniel is one of the greatest chapters in the Bible. Understanding this chapter is the key to understanding God’s plan of redemption and prophecy. Chapter nine ties together the other visions in the book of Daniel, and unlocks their meaning.

Here we find out how the “Son of Man” in Daniel 7 became the “Son of Man”. The Messiah would die for the sins of the world, fulfilling the words of Isaiah 52:12 to 53:13. Daniel chapter nine would revealed the exact month and year of Messiah’s death 538 years before his birth.

God also informs Daniel about what will happen to Israel in the future, and how Israel’s future will relate to events at the end of time. The event known as the “Abomination of Desolation” referenced by Jesus in Matthew 24:15 is illuminated as the half way mark in the final week of Daniel’s Seventy Weeks.

Through Gabriel, God informs Daniel, how a third Temple will be the beginning sign of the completion of the times of the Gentiles, ending with God’s judgment poured out on the desolate

A bit more on this topic..

Berlusconi offers to help mediate Israeli-Palestinian deal (Roundup

Jerusalem/Bethlehem - Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi on Wednesday said he was willing to meet a delegation from both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and offered his country as mediator in a bid to help reach a peace settlement.

He told a joint news conference with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Bethlehem that while in Israel he had felt a ‘desire’ to move forward to launch negotiations and reach an agreement quickly

What a great leader of a nation. Silvio Berlusconi proves that there are true leaders still left in the world. That not all world leaders are cowards like Obama.

I don’t know anything about the website that this quote came from, but there is something that you should do when you do give these quotes.... you should give the link that it came from, too... so anyone can check out the source of the material and other material that comes along with that quote...

I traced it back to this website, but you may have gotten it from somewhere else, and I wouldn’t know that...

I’m not quite sure what you’re asking... I mean a calculator will tell me how many years passed, but that doesn’t seem to be what you’re asking...

No not the calculation

Just how we would interpet the years from 70A.D when Jerusalem was destroyed until today

More than 1360 yrs have passed I believe, that is the number calculation...

You were saying ...

I don't see that Daniel's prophecy of the 70-7s of years allocated to the Jews (69-7s which has transpired already, leaving 1-7 of years left) -- relates to 70 A.D.

Is this what you're saying? That Daniel's prophecy somehow relates to 70 A.D.?

I see the 69-7s of years completing at the time that the Messiah is "cut-off" -- as the prophecy of Daniel says... and that's where the "timeclock" stops -- until an unknown interval of time occurs.

It's unknown because we are told we will not know the exact time of Jesus' return for His own, at the time of the Rapture. When that happens, and when the prophecy "starts up again" (at the point in time when the peace agreement is in force, per Daniel) -- then that's when we know we're picking up those last 7 years... But, we won't know the exact time before it happens, but only after it happens. Then it will be clear (afterwards...).

What's the significance of the time period from 70 A.D. to now? It's just an interval of time...

And I fully understand that..I guess I was just having some issue with why 1290 years and 1335 years mentioned in Daniel
9:12-12 has significance to us today.....

But yes I do think that GOD does want this to be an unknown due to the Rapture

You were saying ...

And I fully understand that..I guess I was just having some issue with why 1290 years and 1335 years mentioned in Daniel 9:12-12 has significance to us today.....

Those are days and not years. The Tribulation is split up into "two" -- 1,260-day halves (1,260 days is 42 months is 3-1/2 years)... with the last half -- having some significance in terms of 1,290 days and then (with some more days added), 1,335 days.

The significance of the last half of the Tribulation with the "day count" of 1,260 days, then 1,290 days and then 1,335 days -- does mean something, but it's not clear what it means (as to what "events" are occuring at those "day-markers"...

I would say that the 1,260-day-mark (in the last half of the Tribulation) has to do with the Messiah of Israel (Jesus) returning to the earth. Then (and guesses on my part) the 1,290-day-mark is the completion of the Messiah's war upon all those who oppose Him. And then the 1,335-day-mark is the Sheep and Goat Judgment of the nations....

Whoever makes it through all that (who was still living here on earth) -- "goes into the Kingdom" (the Millennial reign of Christ on earth).

And also, it's worth to note that parts of those verses in those chapters that you mention, have already been fulfilled in the past. There's a particular spot that Bible prophecy teachers "pick it up" and mark Daniel's prophecies as "still yet future" -- as opposed to those which have already happened (in that section that you mention).

END TIMES/ DREAMS/ VISIONS/ PROPHECY PING LIST--an important ping and link, imho.

Alamo-Girl; I'd be interrested in your insights re the mention of Enoch etc. in such a context. I thought it was in the first part but I've just scanned again to page 8 and didn't find where it is. Sorry.

I believe that every FREEPER should familiarize themselves with the 16 page doc at the following link you provided.

http://www.cephas-library.com/israel/israel_the_rebuilding_of_solomons_temple.html

I'm also keenly interested in anyone who can back-up various assertions re any of the symbols etc. From my own limited reading--it's all more than a little distasteful to me and always has been--have tended to skim the tops of such docs just to be lightly aware of such themes, groups, symbols, goings on, connections etc.

I have never read before that "obelisk" literally means "Baal's Shaft" or Baal's organ of reproduction.

Personally, I don't doubt the connections between all such and globalism. And, I don't really doubt much about the connections between all such and the desire to rebuild Solomon's Temple for the glorification--essentially--in their eyes--of the Anti-Christ to deceive the Jews and the world . . . and to be worshipped as God.

Anyway--It seems that puzzle pieces and events are falling into place at a faster and faster clip. Let us walk ever closer TO THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, ISAAC AND JACOB--KNOWING AND FOLLOWING HIM INTIMATELY IN STEP WITH HIS WORD.

The Comedian--Have been pondering from the volcano threads . . . IF a massive eruption or set of eruptions . . . possibly aided by some nukes . . . tossed a lot of ash into the upper atmosphere . . . the days would be shortened. Wouldn't that fit that Scripture . . . about except the days be shortened , no flesh would be saved . . . and I wonder . . . if there's all that ash in the stratosphere--or wherever such--wouldn't that moderate extreme solar flare damages markedly? Could that be the other part of that Scripture?

The damage in terms of famine from food crop destruction would be horrendous . . . yet better than total wipe out from extreme solar emissions . . . ??? plausible????

Have long wondered if that Scripture meant less days or shorter days. Leaning currently toward shoter days as the meaning. None of the Greek Scholars I've ever talked to could offer any greater clue on it.

Blessings,

Hey brother, I'm honored to share my widow's mites of understanding:

In context the term "hemera" (days) doesn't mean "days" as in 24 hour cycles of night and day (which certainly could be affected by atmospheric ash and pollution), it means that total period or appointed time.

hemera hay-mer'-ah: age, + alway, (mid-)day (by day, (-ly), + for ever, judgment, (day) time, while, years.

The over-all period/age/judgement is shortened, not its constituent units.

The Baal thing is bigger, but I gotta run :-)
