” But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.” ~ I Peter 2:9-10 ~

Dear Gracious Father in Heaven, We come before You with a heart full of Praise and Thanksgiving for Your great love and mercy! We Praise You with all our hearts, we worship You and adore You for great is Your Glory throughout the earth! We stand on Your Holy Word "that all supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and for all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth."(ITim.2:1-5)We lift to Your Throne of Grace, the President ,that he might come to know Jesus Christ as his LORD and Savior, and we ask the the same for everyone of his advisors, Blanket the whole of Washington D.C. with Your Holy Spirit, cause each person in authority to come to the end of themselves and seek the Living God! "This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners," ( I Tim 1:15) Thank You, LORD! I lift up Our Beloved Troops and Pray Your Word back to You!

Deliver our Troops, O LORD, from evil men; Preserve them from violent men, Who plan evil things in their hearts; They continually gather together for war. They sharpen their tongues like a serpent; The poison of asps is under their lips. Selah

Keep our Troops, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; Preserve them from violent men, Who have purposed to make their steps to stumble.

The proud have hidden a snare for them, and cords; They have spread a net by the wayside; They have set traps for them. Selah

They have said to the LORD: “You are my God; Hear the voice of their supplications, O LORD. O GOD the Lord, the strength of their salvation, You have covered their heads in the day of battle.

Do not grant, O LORD, the desires of the wicked; Do not further his wicked scheme, Lest they be exalted. Selah

“As for the head of those who surround our Troops, Let the evil of their lips cover them; Let burning coals fall upon them; Let them be cast into the fire, Into deep pits, that they rise not up again. Let not a slanderer be established in the earth; Let evil hunt the violent man to overthrow him.”

I know that the LORD will maintain The cause of the afflicted, And justice for the poor.

"Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; The upright shall dwell in Your presence." ~Psalm 140~

Thank You, LORD for each and every member of the Military that continues to serve our great Republic in these dangerous days. May the Blood of Our LORD Jesus Christ cover and protect each soldier as they risk their life for our Freedoms. Please Gracious LORD, comfort each home that has a family member serving our country. Thank You, God for Your Goodness to our country by protecting us. Please LORD, keep US safe! Keep our Troops safe. We ask that You wake up the citzens that are still asleep to the danger that is overtaking our great country. " Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly adundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us to Him be glory in the church by Jesus Christ to all generations, forever and ever. In Jesus Name, amen." ~ Eph.3:20-21~

God Loveth Adverbs
But we have the mind of Christ. —1 Corinthians 2:16

The Puritans wisely sought to connect all of life to its source in God, bringing the two worlds together rather than dividing them into sacred and secular. They had a saying, “God loveth adverbs; and careth not how good, but how well.” Adverbs describe verbs—our words of action and activity. The proverb implies that God cares more about the spirit in which we live than the concrete results.

Pleasing God doesn’t mean that we must busy ourselves with a new set of “spiritual” activities. As the Puritans said, whether cleaning house or preaching sermons, shoeing horses or translating the Bible, any human activity may constitute an offering to God.

We spend much time immersed in the mundane. “But we have the mind of Christ,” Paul reminds us (1 Cor. 2:16). That truth is to guide everything we do. Caring for an elderly parent. Cleaning up after a child. Sitting on a porch with a neighbor. Fielding a customer’s complaint. Filling out patient charts at a nurses’ station. Sitting in traffic. Sawing lumber. Reporting tips. Shopping for groceries.

We need faith and the mind of the Lord Jesus to recognize something of lasting value in even our most ordinary tasks.

In the common round of duty
Lift thy heart in praise;
For the Lord hath surely promised
Strength for all thy days. —Tovey

The world crowns success; God crowns faithfulness!

Amen—complete agreement with every word. Thank you for completing your prayer with such a faith-building optimistic scripture.

Thank You also, Father, for the dramatically reduced number of deaths in Iraq. This is evidence of Your goodness and we are grateful.
