There is no discussing Islam without discussing the Moderate Muslim. Like the Tooth Fairy or Santa Claus, the Moderate Muslim is often a topic of conversation, but rarely has much to say about himself. And even those who note that the Moderate Muslim is somewhat less in evidence than the Dodo or the Mammoth, turn instead to the project of reforming Islam.
It is of course possible to reform Islam. It is also possible to reform a serial killer. It is however not likely, and certainly not safe to stake your serial-killer prevention strategy on letting the serial killer run free, while you try and talk to him about the virtues of not cutting off people's heads and wearing their skin.
For over a thousand years Islam has been the serial killer of world civilization, decimating entire cultures and religions, practicing ethnic cleansing, genocide, terrorism and endless war. Islam is currently involved directly or indirectly in conflicts or terrorism on virtually every continent. Modern Islamist movements have fused the modern tools of war from IED's to Lawfare to Social Media, with ancient fanatical beliefs blended with the leavings of National Socialism and Communism to create a global killing machine.

That is not my problem, it is not our problem. I don’t want to see MY country attacked again, or changed by them. Islamic theocratic rule discriminates, indeed. Freedom of religion was a founding principle of our nation, but not theirs. And we can’t give it to them as a principle because it defies the central idea of their faith. WE CANNOT SAVE THE WORLD. I don’t care what happens in Indonesia, or Egypt. People there who are not Muslims would be able to leave, under my solution. The Muslims need to be forced to marinate in their own hateful religion until something changes. They should not be allowed to use our Western nations as a pressure valve. And Spain did what it had to do to take care of the problem, winding up the task in 1492, when they finally defeated the last Moorish king of Andalucía and purged their country of the remaining Moors. Under my solution, Michigan would revert to what it was earlier, because the Muslim plague would have to leave and return to its native hell holes.

To neutralize the first two reasons, we have to change ourselves first, rather than changing Islam. Only if we cease to appease and tolerate Islamism, is Islamization likely to falter.
Islam can never "reform," because reforming implies that there was something good there to begin with, but that somehow it got lost over time. With Islam, there was never anything at all that was good in any way. It spread through violence and fear, simply because it came along at a time when the Roman Empire had collapsed and there was nobody to protect these divided and often warring ME kingdoms. In addition, the Middle Eastern propensity for strange heresies meant that Christianity was very fragmented there, and the collapse of civil society made it hard for the authorities of either the Eastern or Western Church to have much impact or offer much support or protection.
In short, there was nobody at that time to oppose Islam, and once it had picked off the weaker kingdoms and societies, it kept on pushing at anything that didn't fight back hard enough. The only way to make Islam "reform," in the sense of calming down enough so other people can share the world with it, is to fight it and keep it intimidated. Islam creates poverty and ignorance wherever it goes, and has survived only by attacking and sucking the lifeblood out of more advanced cultures. Prevent it from overcoming these cultures - by neither appeasing nor tolerating - and it will probably eventually wither and die. But in the meantime, if we're firm, it won't be a threat.
Right now, however, it's a major threat because the West is not firm at all, and the major anti-Islamist power, the US, now has a Muslim or Muslim sympathizer president. This does not bode well.

Yes, Islam is the scourge of the earth for over a thousand years. But like in most countries now days few people actually practice the religion they are in.
The majority of those that are Muslims don’t even practice it and would rather not live in a theocracy hell hole. Those that do practice the religion has labeled them stupid or dumb Muslims
These are the people we should deal with that call themselves Muslims.
The short answer is that like Nazi rule, Islamic theocratic rule must come to an END. Islam itself can continue, go worship a meteor, the moon, etc. fast. Whatever. But no lording it over people of other religious faiths in legal courts. No restriction on others religious freedoms. No death sentences for nonmuslims who dare enter Islam's segregated cities and no death sentences for muslims who leave the cult.
It is a basic violation of civil rights and we only postpone yet another Islamic imperialist war for a future generation. Hint, the battle has waged for over a thousand years.

How many muslims speak out against the religous discrimination in Saudi Arabia? I mean they all bow to Mecca 5 times a day every day. All around the world. You’d think it should cross their minds at least once in awhile that the lands they are in practicing Islam in are far more tolerant than Saudi Arabia is of anyone (even native citizens) practicing any other faith.
They can’t float the “that’s not real Isalm” schtick. It is the capital of the Islamic empire. Millions of muslims make the pilgrimage there every year. It is a requirement of the faith.
But deafening silence on the wrongs perpetrated in their name.
It’s like trying to denounce Hitler but protect Nazism as a “legitimate” political system. Islam is a system of governance, not strictly a religion. Wrong in principle.
The religion can remain but the system of legal rule must be tossed on the scrap heap of history.
