Catholic Word of the Day Ping!
Please send me a FReepmail if you would like to be on the Catholic Word of the Day Ping List.
So “attrition” is the same as “imperfect contrition”?
If perfect contrition were required for sins to be forgiven, many people would be in real trouble. I would be!
The last time I took my kids to Confession, I told my son (who is in that flippant stage, 15), “Try to generate at least imperfect contrition. Maybe you can be sorry for your sins because you looked really stupid, or because it didn’t do you any good, anyway, or because you ended up with three days of extra chores and an early bedtime!”
