I’m Jewish and like to greet with Merry Christmas. No issue with me.

I say Merry Christmas (or Happy Hanukkah for my Jewish friends). I refuse to be pressured into using Happy Holidays, Seasons Greetings or any of those sanitized expressions.

As a reminder to myself about the true meaning, I have adopted writing the word as CHRISTmas every single time, and I pronounce it with the long ‘i’ as in ‘time’.

Everyone here should try it. It would be awesome if it could become a nationwide movement that forever changes the way the word is written and pronounced.

Well according to the politically correct crowd, you as a Jew are supposed to be offended at the mention of Christmas. I guess you don’t take your cue from the ultra-liberal radicals who force these issues on us.

Years ago, I worked in a department of a law firm with six attorneys and four secretaries. I was taking a long vacation from the end of November through Christmas; so before I left, I went around and wished everyone in my department a Merry Christmas. However, as soon as I said Merry Christmas to one of the attorneys, Sam, I immediately realized that Sam is Jewish. So I started apologizing profusely and said, “I should have wished you a Happy Hanukkah instead.” Sam just shrugged and said, “same thing.”

But that 72% will defer to the 28%.

Holiday: a legally recognized day off from work.

Christmas: is an annual holiday celebrated on December 25 that commemorates the birth of Jesus of Nazareth.

Christmas will still be Christmas, whether it is legally recognized as a holiday or not...

Christmas will still be Christmas, no matter how stubborn those 22% are in telling you they are Uncomfortable with

Merry Christmas

How well do you think I would I be received if I went to live in Iran or Irag, and I made a big stink because I disliked their words of greeting and hospitality concerning their religious or festive events?

Granted, all the ACLU lawyers already have memorized legal arguments telling me how wrong I am, as an American, for thinking this way... I have two words for them:

Merry Christmas

Basically, I say nothing. Very, very, very few people are worthy of my good wishes.

I don't care which expressions retailers print in their sales circulars advertising their overpriced, Made in China, Made in Thailand, Made in Japan junk-I-don't-want. They paid for the ink, they can say what they want. It's a free market.

And New Years? Who cares... what are we, teenagers? Hasn't been the same since Guy Lombardo died and took the Royal Canadians with him. All it means is writing the wrong year on the first couple of checks sent out to Comcast (who must die), the electric company (always good for 4 or 5 inconvenient power outages a year), and the water utility (who charges more for piping the raw sewerage out of the house than for piping in the actual water).

Teachers see this and realize there needs to be some way to re-educate those intolerant, pro-Christian adults. And if they refuse to be re-educated, turn them into criminals and put em away.
