Just a post, to see what favorite song inspires freepers in praising the LORD?
I have many, but I will say the one that connects to my soul like no other is *Through the Fire* by Jason Crabb and the Crabb Family

Let There Be Peace on Earth
NO! They are very hard. I saw a reinactment on a cold windy fall day. They were striking the colors and a British Dragoon was doing it. They came over the hill playing. You could hear them before you could see them. I am telling you right now that the hair was UP on the back of my neck. They are awsome.
Onward Christians Soldiers and Stand up, Stand up for Jesus.
It does the same thing to me!
Praise be to GOD!
Battle Hymn
I happen to hold that the Battle Hymn of the Republic is not appropriate to sing about the US of A. We are not God's holy army wrecking God's end-of-the-age vengeance on His enemies.
Ave Maria.
Amazing Grace on pipes.
I especially like Harry Rowe Shelley’s version of “The King of Love My Shepherd Is.” The refrain’s melody is virtually identical to the tune of “Mid Storied Lands,” which was the University of Southern California’s alma mater from 1909 to 1924.
Amazing Grace
Contemporary would be
“Who Am I” by Casting Crowns

And
“I will praise You in the storm” by Casting Crowns]

And
“Blessed be Your Name” Matt Redman (although I like it better when someone else does Matt Redman’s songs)

Hymns would be:
It is well with my soul (especially the story behind the writing of the song)
Amazing Grace
Hank Williams’ “I Saw the Light”
AC/DC
Thanks!
Great songs to listen too....
Yes I should have added that to my list of hymns! I will edit my post!
1. A mighty fortress is our God,
a bulwark never failing;
our helper he amid the flood
of mortal ills prevaling.
For still our ancient foe
doth seek to work us woe;
his craft and power are great,
and armed with cruel hate,
on earth is not his equal.
2. Did we in our own strength confide,
our striving would be losing,
were not the right man on our side,
the man of God’s own choosing.
Dost ask who that may be?
Christ Jesus, it is he;
Lord Sabaoth, his name,
from age to age the same,
and he must win the battle.
3. And though this world, with devils filled,
should threaten to undo us,
we will not fear, for God hath willed
his truth to triumph through us.
The Prince of Darkness grim,
we tremble not for him;
his rage we can endure,
for lo, his doom is sure;
one little word shall fell him.
4. That word above all earthly powers,
no thanks to them, abideth;
the Spirit and the gifts are ours,
thru him who with us sideth.
Let goods and kindred go,
this mortal life also;
the body they may kill;
God’s truth abideth still;
his kingdom is forever.
