Our church did a recent survey on programs, buildings, ministries, etc.

The one topic getting the most feedback from parishioners was about having more sacred music. Pastor, staff, liturgy committee were all stunned.

I think it speaks to the times we are in and what we want to hear.

Other comments?

No “On Eagles Wings” or “Sing Hosannah” please! I occasionally show up to church when visiting family, and the music is a sore point for me. That and priests who talk more about themselves than about the lord.

During Midnight Mass last year our family and several others walked out of the local parish Church when the music was “all rock”! We are now voting with our feet.
