The Vatican has issued a statement congratulating US President Barack Obama on his selection for the Nobel Peace Prize, expressing the hope that "this important recognition will continue to encourage such a difficult but fundamental effort for the future of humanity." Father Federico Lombardi, the director of the Vatican press office, said that the award was welcome "particularly in light of the commitment shown by the President towards the promotion of international peace and recently in favor of nuclear disarmament."

This is so embarrassing. I'm so ashamed, so ashamed by what Church officials are saying these days about Obama. Why are people so fascinated with him? What exactly has he done to deserve this award? Nothing. 51 million defenseless babies are slaughtered inside the womb by a man who's declared war against unborn children.

This reminds me of private prophecy that states:
“the communist flag will fly over the Vatican.” All told, the problem is that people suffer from a severe case Obama myopia.

This was predicted in the Third Fatima Secret as occurring in the end times.

Neither did Ghandi.

When the Church is loved by the world, then is the time to be concerned. Furthermore, the Nobel Peace prize is a joke.

You don't get it, he pulled missile defenses from eastern Europe and gave Russia exactly what it wanted on the subject, asking nothing in return. Every communist and peacenik organization on the planet thinks that is more important than anything else on earth. Plus, he is talking to the Iranians and doing nothing to stop them getting nuclear weapons, just as the commies want.
What, you think any of these people care a tinker's darn about the west? They want it to roll over and quietly die...

Hey, sorry. I just went back and really read the thread, and it’s a real one. I thought it was one of the humor headlines.
No, not a member of either group.

Then why are you talking about the third secret of Fatima as if it’s still up in the air?

It was a joke. See the other humor threads today for reference to what’s been occurring on FR for the last couple of hours.

Actually, and seriously, do you know of a FreeRepublic thread on Fatima and the secrets? I do enjoy the subject, as well as the Shroud information, so it may be lucky I ran into you here. Thanks in advance.

This is so embarrassing. I'm so ashamed, so ashamed by what Church officials are saying these days about Obama. The Protestant Church welcomes you.

What did he do before February 1, 2009 to deserve it?? He said he hoped there would be peace. Isn't that enough? And shouldn't he be a shoo-in for next year too based on what he has done said since then?

Why is this post being called a joke? I went to the link, and it's a weird, weird site.....so I don't know if this is a joke or not. You should clear this up....and let us in on the authenticity of the web site you referred us to.....pronto.
This is no joking matter....and I'll wait for you to clear this up. Thanks.
