Precisely the SAME, and for the same reasons. Admittedly, all the Protestant brands declare their traditions to be subservient to the Bible, which is in their favor, but declaration and practice are two separate things.

Again, how (Roman) Catholic. It is amazing to me how edifices seek to abscond with what was meant to be a very personal relationship with every individual Christian within the body. THE WHOLE CHURCH, and every member within her has the power each anointed by the SAME SPIRIT. Each member, as a part of the Body of Christ, walks boldly into the Holy of Holies. Doctrines and priesthoods counteract the simple truth and personal relationship that Christ desires with each and every soul.
If you come in to the congregation and declare some fantasy doctrine that you heard on Brother Yahoo’s old time revivalist freewill teetotaler radio program last night, quoting Scripture and all, the officers are free to toss you on your ear when it does not match the gold standard properly interpreted. Clearly, your interpretation is wrong, and God’s human ambassadors are right.
This is the same self-assured piety that stoned the prophets in days of old. God chooses, not man.

But one won't know that unless one seeks him out... A perilous thing to do, I suppose, for one who believes that all this "futurist nonsense" started in the late 1800's.
He predicted outright that Israel would become a physical nation again, and came pretty close on the conditions and dates surrounding the event. He predicted the rise of Zionism. He predicted Hitler as the "Little Horn"... His views on the Prophecy cannot be easily discounted, even though, as I said, he cannot be fully correct.
I mention him only as a great defender of the Prophecy and of the Word. One who did so at the peril of his life, and as one who's intellect cannot be summarily dismissed. He stands fully, and convincingly, outside of your time-line.
When one has sufficiently satisfied oneself that Newton is as I say, I have more for you. It is a fallacy to say that the true reading of the Prophecy is new. It is Replacement Theology which is new, and it is wrong headed, and stands against the Scriptures.

And What, pray tell, would those "commandments" be?
It is my assertion they would be the commandments of God, as we are reminded to do throughout the New Testament. That is indeed "sound doctrine". But what has it to do with the doctrine of Calvin, or any other man?
He was not without his flaws... He was not trinitarian... Railed against it in fact, AFAIR, without denying the deity of the Three. I believe he saw a subordinate structure, where the SON and the Spirit were of, but not equal to the Father. I can also point to passages of his prophetic interpretation which I disagree with too.
But as I said, He is a man. I don't follow any doctrine of men, not to mention the doctrine of Newton. I hold onto what is good, as the Bible says to do...

The emergence of a dominant hierarchy in the 300's and the link to the state is also the time Christians began killing Christians for disagreeing. We often think that the Reformation is when this terrible sin ended, but it really wasn't until Christian churches were separated from the state.

Maybe we get to caught up in trying to "make the other guy look bad", or "discrediting them" to see the forest because of the trees in our way.
I don't believe UFO sightings have anything to do with creatures from other planets coming to study us. If such creatures existed and could travel great distances why would they lack the ability to keep themselves hidden.
If they don't come from other planets then where do they come from and why are they here? I think it's to mislead people into thinking we are all just biological and a part of a vast universe and science has the answer for everything. Now who could want us to deny we are more than biological?
The keys of the kingdom represents the power Christ has given to the legitimate leaders of His Church to discipline (binding) and disciple (loosing), all according to the Word of God.
When a person comes into the congregation with a strange teaching that contradicts the Bible, they are not to be tolerated. Conversely, the leaders have the responsibility to faithfully teach all and only what is found in the Word of God. That is their divine authority.
This is why it is important to have a plurality of leaders (elders) in the Church. The decision is never left to any one man. There is wisdom in numbers (Proverbs 11:14; 15:22; 24:6).

The speculation that all this is demonically inspired is laughable. Demon manifestations in the Bible never followed this track. There is no evidence demons have the power to manipulate the physical world in order to create such phenomena, e.g., UFOs.
If these demons really had the ability to unfocus our thinking away from Jesus, all they have to do is land their spaceship and announce to the world there is no God. Most people are stupid enough to believe them. Case closed.
I think you give demons far more credit than they deserve.
Are you saying there are no heretics? That everyone’s ideas are as good as anyone else’s? That truth is relative?
Or are you saying it is a crap shoot to try and figure out who’s right and who’s wrong?
