I sure hope not. The world isn’t ready. Too many Christians act like their church is a social club, rather than a base camp for spreading His word. We need to get our act together first or Jesus will be very disappointed.

Remember, the Bible says that no one knows when the coming of Christ will be. He will come “like a thief in the night”. I don’t think 2012 is it because everyone says this is when it will be.

I can only agree.
I admit to watching several of the 2012 hysteria shows on History lately.
I don’t buy the end times stuff, but I have always had this morbid curiosity about it anyway.
It is interesting that so many sources point to 2012, but these are all extrabiblical and Satan appears as an angel of light. Scipture doesn’t indicate that at all.

It doesn’t have to be the end of the world. But it can be something very ugly such as world war. I too have watched the History channel spin on things but with the way things are going and Obama being the president, I believe it will only embolden our enemies like Iran and North Korea, Russia. Look how he is handling Afghanistan, he is told we need more troops to win but yet Obama is more worried about getting the damn Olympics for his cronies in Chicago.

Do please read the text you thought you were paraphrasing, and carefully note that Paul, in verse 4, EXPRESSLY EXCLUDES believers from being in the position of such ignorance that The Day of The LORD would come upon them like a thief.
If you are in Christ -- if you have the love of Truth -- that day will certainly not take you by surprise.
