a vocation to be a priest?
A website designed and run by teens who are seriously considering becoming Catholic priests. What can we do to help you discern your vocation?
I am convinced that the important ideals of a person are forged around the age of 15. Their ideals are full of dreams and imagination, which afterwards will have to mature, but these ideals are an amazing driving force for all of life.
God calls who he wishes and when he wishes. Sometimes people question whether a 12 year-old child or an 18 year-old young person can see his vocation clearly. There are children who from a young age say they want to be a doctor or teacher and end up becoming one, he said. Others decide what they want to be when they are older but later they take a different path. The same thing happens with religious vocations. Some of the children who show signs of a vocation end up in the priesthood, others dont. We need to accompany them in the process of personal maturation and help them to discern the will of God.

Great find Salvation! I will visit these sites and send my son to take a look. Less than a year til he leaves for seminary now, and the paperwork process has begun.
It is daunting and exhausting in its volume, as well as a day and a half psych exam, meetings with the bishop and a full medical exam. He has to write an autobiography, answer countless questionnaires, and this is just the first step. Any or all of his answers could disqualify or delay his entry. Please pray for us, and let the Catholic group know that we need their prayers, now more than ever.
It doesn’t take a village to raise a child, but it takes an army to battle evil! Thanks for all your pings and God Bless you in your ministry here!
Thanks for the details. I don’t think a lot of Catholics, let alone the general public are aware of the strenuous preparation for entering the seminary. The day and a half psych examination would daunt anyone!
Prayers for your son!
