Judge Urges Mediation in 'Honor Killing' Custody Case (Rifqa's Dad Blasts her Christian Pastor)
ABC News ^ | 9/19/2009 | DAN HARRIS, MARIECAR FRIAS and AYANA HARRY

A Florida judge declined today to decide whether a 17-year-old girl should be sent home to her Muslim parents in Ohio or allowed to stay in Florida with a couple of Christian pastors.

Circuit Judge Daniel Dawson instead urged the lawyers, the girl, her parents and the pastors to settle the custody issue in mediation.

In the meantime, Fathima Rifqa Bary was ordered to remain under the jurisdiction of Florida's Department of Children and Families.

The teenager, who goes by the name of Rifqa, has told Florida authorities that she fled her home in July because she had secretly converted to Christianity and that her father was bound by his Muslim faith kill her for leaving Islam.

"They have to kill me because I'm a Christian. It's an honor [killing]," she tearfully told ABC Orlando affiliate WFTV last month.

She was discovered living with Christian pastor, Blake Lorenz, and his wife, Beverly, who Rifqa said she met online.

Dawson sealed a report about the girl today, just hours before the hearing. The report on Rifqa Bary was carried out by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Also before today's hearing, Rifqa's father spoke out for the first time on national television to "Good Morning America," saying his daughter's claims are completely "not true" and that she is being manipulated by people in the Christian community.

"I don't believe my daughter would say this," Rifqa's father, Mohamed Bary, told "GMA." "She's completely being coached -- I mean trained, influenced by these people. It's so sad."

The Barys blame the girl's actions on the Lorenzes and believe the Lorenzes coaxed her into claiming the honor killing, though they admit they would prefer if their daughter was Muslim.

Are you trying to fool us into believing the Koran does not provide death for apostates? Anyone can read it ~ the Koran is not a secret.

Does anyone think the parents would tell the State of Indiana that, yes, we're taking her home to get her away from bad influences

A minor correction --- her parents live in the state of Ohio.

You didn't read the entire entry. Further down you will see that he has lied about he and his wife's income. So that begs the question... what else has he lied about? He attends a radical mosque in Cleveland that has been tied to terrorism. She has received death threats from some of those attending that same mosque. etc. I think the evidence shows that she is in danger. When there is a inkling of a doubt about being in danger, then take the high road. She has stated that she feels she is in danger of her father. That's enough for me.

Moderate or not they still read and follow the same book.

Reading the tea-leaves here, I can see exactly what’s going to happen. That Christian Lawyer is going to convince enough people that the girl will be completely safe, she’s going to be forced to return, and she’s going to die.

Then all the people who supported her return — including this lawyer — are going to somehow blame the people who tried to keep her from being returned for politicizing the case, stirring up passions, etc., etc., etc...

They will point their fingers everywhere but at themselves.

And that poor girl will still be dead.

There are only a few types of people who tolerate or promote the filth of Islam, the ignorant, sneaks, cheats and liars!

Islam is a military and quasi-political movement that camouflages itself as a religion. However, as with Dictatorships, Fascism and Communism or other such command and control systems, a social tool is used to stealthily control the populace. Americans are deliberately misled regarding this extremist movement disguised as a religion; should be banned on its face due to the primary tenets of hate and violation of codified laws applied to any individual/group behavior which declares and promotes violence, advocates unlawful activity among members and conducts business activities in violation of Civil, Human and Constitutional Rights.

Think of the Koran and Surras as a Middle Eastern version of “art of war.” There is “no social redeeming value” in either Islam, Koran or supporting documents!

Quote: Manuel II Palaiologos as saying: “Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new and there you will find things only bad and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”

Those that are offened by this quote, have suspended their disbelief and are blind to the facts of life!

Further, she is in America, not an Islamic State, we do not enslave, sell or indenture 17 year olds against their freewill.

her other allegations about the Noor Islamic Center don’t seem to have any merit either.

There have been reports otherwise.

Read This site for instance.

EXCERPT :

Noor Islamic Cultural Center's past "de facto 'scholar-in-residence'", Dr. Salah Sultan who is

...internationally-renowned for his positions with Islamic organizations, such as the Fiqh Council of North America, the Muslim American Society, European Council for Fatwa and Research and the Islamic Association for Muslim Scholars – the last two organizations headed up by his mentor, Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, who is recognized as one of the top Muslim Brotherhood thinkers and the spiritual leader for the terrorist group Hamas. When Sultan founded the Islamic American University in the Detroit area, he named Qaradawi as the honorary chairman of the board and appointed him head of the school’s campus in Qatar, despite the fact that Qaradawi has been banned from the U.S. since 1999 for his Islamic rulings authorizing the use suicide bombing terrorist attacks.

[...] While still a Central Ohio resident he participated in the issuance of Islamic fatwas (legal rulings) authorizing attacks against U.S. military troops in Iraq through organizations he holds leadership positions in, and he has personally taken positions on Islamic issues in defense of extreme Islamic punishments, including stoning and amputations, in accordance with Islamic law.

To me, a number of the connections drawn in the memo are a little stretched. For example, the lawyers make a lot out of a connection drawn to Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, who is mentioned above.

Al-Qaradawi was a mentor to Dr. Sultan, who was an Islamic scholar who spoke at the mosque, which was attended by Mohamed Bary, who therefore is willing to submit to the commission of murder. Sorry, but anyone can play six-degrees of separation and that line of argument isn't very strong. Unfortunately for Rifqa, many of their other connections are made from stronger stuff.

The list of controversial figures who have given regular speeches at the center goes on for several pages. Here again, several of the allegations are almost laughably weak, such one against as Muzammil Siddiqi, who in 1989, "condemned Salman Rushdie for his book, 'The Satanic Verses', calling it 'obscene' and called for the book to be banned." Accusing a Muslim of being an extremist for condemning the Satanic Verses is the logical equivalent of accusing a Christian of being an extremist for condemning Marilyn Manson. Had Muzammil Siddiqi been calling for the death of Salman Rushdie, in accordance with the fatwa issued by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, 'extremist' would certainly be fitting. Simply calling it 'obscene' is pretty standard stuff where religion is concerned.

The very next allegation, however, is a bit more damning.

In December 1992, just months before the World Trade Center bombings, Siddiqi hosted the mastermind of the plot, Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, and translated for him as he delivered a sermon exhorting Siddiqi’s congregants to wage violent jihad. Siddiqi’s mosque continued to sell copies of the videos of that sermon even after the Blind Sheikh had been tied to the bombings.

Rifqa’s lawyers, who have taken the case pro bono, released a short affidavit signed by Rifqa, along with a lengthy and thoroughly researched memo (Note: pdf) detailing a number of ominous connections between her families religious center and extremist elements of Islamic society.

Read their research in PDF Format here ;

Which muslim country is it where apostate muslims openly become Christians without danger?

Which muslim country is it where muslim girls openly date non-muslim men without danger?

They’ve had a rash of killings in Sweden and other European countries where girls have gone Swedish or German or Dutch, and paid the ultimate price for doing it.

I don’t think in any of these cases the parents would have told the authorities before hand, why yes, I’m from “that” branch of Islam. And the mothers? Didn’t we just have a case where a guy cut his wife’s head off... the guy who owned a muslim broadcasting station dedicated to overcoming myths about Islam?

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/02/18/national/main4808738.shtml

I don’t think the pop consults the mom before hand to tell her, why yes, I’m going to marry the girl to a fine muslim man without her consent. If he does, I don’t think the mom has much to say about it. She’s just glad it wasn’t something worse.

You got me there. I can't think of any. Maybe Turkey or Malaysia ? (where the worse that will happen is being ostracized ?) I don't know, I'm just guessing.

I don't know if you can believe everything the daughter has said or not, but since she's already 17 years old I think she should be allowed to stay where ever she wants.

In florida the age where a judge can say a child knows truth from lie and can distinguish the two is GENERALLY 13.

The judge will listen.

That said, let us be realistic. How many kooky pastors have we seen in this life? The judge is RIGHT not to trust anyone.

If she has 10 months to go before adulthood and there is no pending petition for emancipation then, if this pastor is serious, the parties need to help her set up an independent adult life. Set her up for school etc.

They don’t have to let her stay with the pastor. They can put her in a group home or in foster care.

I personally think there will not be an attempt to kill her so long as she is in the USA. The news is too big for them to stupidly attempt such an act. It will simply make their mosque a target of further scrutiny and investigation.

It doesn’t matter whether we believe the father. Even if he has the best of intentions and truly would never hurt her, she is at risk now from any male in her family who feels she has hurt the family honor. So a brother, uncle, whoever might feel the need to kill her. She might also be at risk from any Islamic radical who thinks that as an apostate, she is fair game.

If I were her, I’d go AWOL and change my name. Better to be working at Burger King than dead.

“My advice to her, if she truly fears for her life, is to try to stretch out the court case as long as possible, and if that doesn’t work, run.”

Yep, that’s the plan!

The father, Mohamed Rifqa says "She is free to practice whatever she believes in, No problem. She can practice in my house. I have no problem.

"We love her. It's our daughter. She being a Christian doesn't mean she's not my daughter," he said.

So folks, do we believe the father ?

All I need is ONE word: Taqiyya. Most FReepers know it already.

For those who don't, it is the law of the Koran that allows a person to LIE THROUGH THEIR TEETH to an infidel (read: any one of us) as long as the cause of Islam is furthered, without getting in trouble with Allah.

I'd believe this Islamopuke as far as I could throw him. Flee with the girl, help her assume a new identity, and allow her to live the life she's chosen. If they give her back to her parents, she WILL be a martyr for her Christian faith. Count on it.
