Most Precious Lord, I enter Your gates with thanksgiving and Your courts with praise this fine September Morning! Singing to King Jesus, He alone is good and righteous! His mercy endures forever! I truly thank You LORD, for another day to praise You, serve You and to lift up the men and women of our Military and their beloved families that give so much to protect US! This is such a small thing to do for them when they are willing to lay down their lives for US, dear LORD! Please burden more hearts to pray a few minutes a day for our wonderful Troops!
Father of Mercy and Grace, Your servants in the battlefield such as the Chaplain from my church has asked for prayers and cards to encourage the wounded and suffering men from Buffalo Company, where there have been twelve deaths in the last 3 and a half weeks, the mens morale is so very low. But You know that,O'LORD, please be Their JOY and their Peace at this time. We ask that You send Your Comfort and Peace to all the families and friends that must bury their loved ones. Thank You, for these families that raised such fine Americans that were willing to lay down their lives for their friends and for their country.(John 15:13, Greater love hath no man than this, to lay down his life for his friends.) Please give their families Your Peace in the days and months that lie ahead.(John 14:27, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you. Let your heart not be troubled, neither let it be afraid.)
Thank You, Loving Shepherd of our Souls, that You neither slumber nor sleep!(Psalm121) Your eyes are always watching our soldiers and their families. Thank You, Great and Merciful Redeemer for Your tender loving care that is always there protecting US, helping and guiding US! (Proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, Keeping watch on the evil and the good.) I call upon You, Most Righteous Lord and King, to deliver US from the dreadful evil that is trying to overtake our beautiful Republic! Thank You, LORD for Your Promise, in Psalm 37:22, For those who are blessed by Him shall inherit the earth, But those that are cursed by Him shall be destroyed.
For all the Praise, Glory and Honor belong to You, My LORD,in Your Name, Jesus Christ, I ask this, amen.
AMEN DEAR SISTER,
GOOD MORNING AND GRACE TO ALL CHRISTIAN PATRIOTS!
“The exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe according to
the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ, when he
raised him from the dead.”
- Ephesians 1:19, 20
In the resurrection of Christ, as in our salvation, there was put forth
nothing short of a divine power. What shall we say of those who think that
conversion is wrought by the free will of man, and is due to his own
betterness of disposition? When we shall see the dead rise from the grave
by their own power, then may we expect to see ungodly sinners of their own
free will turning to Christ. It is not the word preached, nor the word
read in itself; all quickening power proceeds from the Holy Ghost. This
power was irresistible. All the soldiers and the high priests could not
keep the body of Christ in the tomb; Death himself could not hold Jesus in
his bonds: even thus irresistible is the power put forth in the believer
when he is raised to newness of life. No sin, no corruption, no devils in
hell nor sinners upon earth, can stay the hand of God’s grace when it
intends to convert a man. If God omnipotently says, “Thou shalt,” man
shall not say, “I will not.” Observe that the power which raised Christ
from the dead was glorious. It reflected honour upon God and wrought
dismay in the hosts of evil. So there is great glory to God in the
conversion of every sinner. It was everlasting power. “Christ being raised
from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.” So we,
being raised from the dead, go not back to our dead works nor to our old
corruptions, but we live unto God. “Because he lives we live also.” “For
we are dead, and our life is hid with Christ in God.” “Like as Christ was
raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should
walk in newness of life.
“ Lastly, in the text mark the union of the new life to Jesus.
The same power which raised the Head works life in the members.
What a blessing to be quickened together with Christ!

SOLI DEO GLORIA!

This is Rev John Odhner preaching at our Cathedral on June 19 (2 years ago.)
We hold June 19th as a special day we call New Church Day where Jesus sent His apostles out in heaven to begin the process of His second coming. That happened in 1771, just prior to the American Revolution.
Lord, we not only ask for your protection but look to You and all of heaven for Divine Inspiration. We live in freedom where we may choose to follow your path, or not. May your power draw us closer to your kingdom and salvation.
Thank You, LORD for giving us such a brave young man that loved his country and was willing to lay down his life to protect us and safeguard our cherished Freedoms. May his family and friends know Your peace and may we never forget 1LT.David Wright and his sacrifice!
In Jesus Name we pray, amen.

David McCulloughs biography of John Adams, one of Americas founding fathers and early presidents, describes him as both a devout Christian and an independent thinker, and he saw no conflict in that. I am struck by that statement, for it carries a note of surprise, suggesting that Christians are somehow naïve or unenlightened, and that the idea of a thinking Christian is a contradiction.
Nothing could be further from the truth. One of the great benefits of salvation is that it causes the believers mind to be guarded by the peace of God (Phil. 4:7), which can foster clear thinking, discernment, and wisdom. Paul described this in his second letter to Corinth when he wrote that in Christ we are equipped for casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Cor. 10:5).
To sift through an argument wisely, to embrace the clarity of the knowledge of God, and to align our thinking with the mind of Christ are valuable skills when living in a world lacking in discernment. These skills enable us to use our minds to represent Christ. Every Christian should be a thinking Christian. Are you?

thank you for that great prayer covering our Heroes with entreaties to the Most High God! God is faithful!
