Pray for our American Heroes
September 5, 2009 | Irish Rose

Why should I fear when evil days come,
when wicked deceivers surround me –
those who trust in their wealth
and boast of their great riches?
No man can redeem the life of another
or give to God a ransom for him –
the ransom for a life is costly,
no payment is ever enough –
that he should live on forever
and not see decay.
(Psalm 49:5-9)

Lord God, we come seeking You; may the light of Your face shine on us.

Father, we pray for our troops. We pray that Your hand would shield them against the weapons and cunning of their enemies. We ask, Lord, that You would bless each one in accordance with Your grace.

Father, we pray for America's first responders, thanking You for giving us able, dedicated men and women to help in times of such need. We ask that You would protect them when their work takes them into danger, and grant each one skill and good judgment. Lord, may Your blessings and Your grace be with all of them.

Lord, we pray for all of Your saints, that we may serve You gladly, rejoicing in Your salvation. We pray also for our country's leaders as Congress convenes again. Guide them away from rash and foolish decisions.

Lord, we confess to You that the ransom for a life is costly, and no payment we give could ever be enough. We don't understand how helpless we are, how desperate our condition, until we remember Golgotha and know that the price of our redemption was Your blood. And we begin to learn how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and how fathomless the mercy of God. Now we have nothing left to fear, and we give You all the thanksgiving and the praise and the glory, in the Name of Jesus, Amen.

God bless our brave troops the protectors of our freedom and our way of life including the freedom and the lives of those traitors in our country who are betraying and undermining our troops 24/7.

GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS!

Dear God, who suffered
torment, agony and death upon the Cross
to free our souls from the chains of iniquity;
protect and defend our troops. Guide them in the
performance of their duties. Strengthen them to
endure hardship, danger and deprivation in Your
service. Let their efforts free the people of Iraq
and Afghanistan from the chains of terror and
slavery, foster a lasting peace in the region, and
bring all to a greater share in Your Mercy.
Amen.
