It is not considered acceptable for a non-communicant (ie a non RC) not be given the elements.
I am not RC by faith ( or heritage) I just know that it is frowned upon ( as my friends who are remind when I go to mass with them)

It’s not that it’s frowned upon, it’s that St. Paul said he who eats and drinks the Body & Blood unworthily eats and drinks damnation upon himself and we don’t want you to go to hell.

If you’re not Catholic why on earth would you take communion from a RC priest? It’s not just ‘do as the romans do’.
