Just wanted to let you both (my oldest brother and I) know that (Sr.) Libby (Dahlstrom) is having heart surgery today.

Went to get an angiogram yesterday and too much blockage to do a stint or the balloon thing, so surgery was recommended – probably 3 or 4 by- passes – she has blockage of 75% in one large artery and 95% in the other large artery and the others are smaller.

(She has been having some symptoms since January….)

Would call you, but I have to get back over to the hospital right now.

Sr. Libby is my "other sister" and is a member of my family, by love, if not by blood.

Please offer prayers and summon the Prayer Warriors of all "stripes". Sr. Libby is a very special person to me and especially to her adult mentally challenged sister.

I have errands to run to with Grandchildren for the rest of the afternoon, please forgive what will seem like posting and running, even if it is just that.

My sister just called from the hospital -- Sr. Libby needed a quadruple bypass and now Sr. Mary is talking to her Superiors to decide if they will need another Sister to come up from Louisiana to care for her ... since my sister will now have all of the tasks associated with both of their Missions to deal with, alone.

As I have stated before, my Sister is in charge of all Chapters of the Lay Carmelites in the USA and Canada.

Sr. Libby travels to the Western portion and deep South and will be constrained for quite a while. Both travel by car.

Sr. Libby is in her 50's -- and very health conscious, so this was a huge surprise to us.

Pray that her recovery is without complication and that whoever comes from the Motherhouse is able to keep her from feeling too well, too fast.

Of course, right now, she is just an hour or so from her surgery and needs prayers that all went and goes well for her.

Now I really do have to go out on my "grandmotherly" rounds, so the children are on time.

Just returned home from the novena and Mass at the Carmelite Monastery in Louisville, KY. I will remember her in prayer tomorrow evening (final night for the novena) and put the request in the box of petitions set up in the chapel.
