A week before his audience with Pope Benedict XVI, President Barack Obama addressed eight questions from Catholic reporters and editors on July 2. The president began:
I've had a wonderful conversation with the Pope over the phone right after the election. And we in some ways see this as a meeting with any other government-- the government of the Holy See. There are going to be areas where we've got deep agreements; there are going to be some areas where we've got some disagreements. So in that sense there's a government-to-government relationship that is already very strong and we want to build on. But obviously this is more than just that. The Catholic Church has such a profound influence worldwide and in our country; the Holy Father is a thought leader and an opinion leader on so many wide-ranging issues. And his religious influence is one that extends beyond the Catholic Church. So from a personal perspective, having a meeting with the Holy Father is a great honor and something that I'm very much looking forward to. And hopefully coming out of this meeting we will be able to continue to find areas where we can cooperate on everything from Middle East peace to dealing with worldwide poverty, climate change, immigration, a whole host of issues in which the Pope has taken extraordinary leadership.

I wish the Pope would not allow O this op.
He’s setting him up for something.
As a Protestant, let me tell you of my solidarity with Catholics when it comes to the these leftist anti-Catholic politicians. Any attack on you I consider an attack on me.
bend over, Catholics! smooooch!
Trying to make sure he has the Catholic support for his worthless health care agenda.
Now, as a muslim, 0 is going to have to make up to them for praising the biggest infidel, the Pope.
I don’t believe the Pope believes in abortion does he?????
Operates a lot like one would expect from the antiChrist, eh... only semi sarc
The Pope and the Church must be charmed, disarmed and roped into the globalist authoritarian movement. Their decency and compassion must be used against them, as tools to gain the globalist aims.
The judgment will not come until the Church is crucified, as the body must be in accordance with its Head. The apocalyptic foreshadowing in events surrounding the Crucifixion (earthquake, tearing of the Cosmos depicted in the Temple veil, and the giving up of the dead) are indicators that these will not be fulfilled until the Church is lifted up on Calvary.i.e.
Secondly, we may feel persecuted these days, but, really, we ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

Benedict isn’t a neophyte and neither are all the others before him.
2000 years of dealing with corrupt, evil characters in and around the Church is more experience than the Obamanation and his Marxist minions can muster.
Is the Pope going to give him another honorary degree.
The Pope should find something else to do that day and tell Obama to go back to wherever he comes from.
Yes! And the POPE dealt so well with Nancy in private - disallowing any photo op. I pray he does the same with “O”.
“Yes! And the POPE dealt so well with Nancy”
There’s also that matter of the Holy Spirit. Christians, and expecially Catholic Christians need to pray that the Holy Spirit protects Benedict and those who will be in contact with Obama and his cohorts.
I don’t believe for a minute that there isn’t a spiritual dimension to Obama. He may not be the one, but he’s definitely influenced by the same realm.
Trying a little flattery now, are we? Well, it worked with Notre Dame and it’s worked with just about everyone else in the world, so I guess he figures it’s worth trying on the Pope.

He is trying for a photo-op for his re-election in 2012- The guy is a pimp and should not be allowed into the corridors of the Vatican much less be allowed a meeting with the Vicar of Christ on Earth.
Gee, does he know that the Pope is ardently pro-life?
