The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. Psalm 121:7,8

TOPICS: Prayer; Religion & Culture; Religion & Politics
KEYWORDS: military; pray; randyforbes
Father, we look to You alone this day for Your mercy, grace and favor. We come boldly into Your throne of grace and, by faith, we receive mercy to help in time of need. Thank You for this invitation to come to You. We pray today for the safety and wisdom of our military, whether they are abroad or within our borders. Send Your angels to watch over each one to guard them in all their ways. Preserve their going out and their coming in. From the lowest ranked to the highest, give each one the skill and wisdom he or she needs to perform his function in excellence and guided by Your Spirit. We pray, Father, for favor with the American public and Washington, D.C. legislators. Thank You, Sir.

**

We bring one of Your children, Representative Randy Forbes before Your throne also today. We agree with his commitment to “focus his efforts in Congress on protecting the security and sovereignty of our nation, preserving the moral and historical roots of our country, strengthening our military and supporting veterans, growing educational opportunities for our children, and promoting economic development through fiscal responsibility.” We ask You to help him fulfill those commitments. Give him understanding, wisdom and favor as he endeavors to do Your will and restore our roots in Your Word and Your will. We thank You for his work as founder of the Congressional Prayer Caucus. By Your Spirit, may it grow in scope, fruitfulness and membership. Protect Representative Forbes in his soul and body. Strengthen him with might by Your Spirit in his inner man and increase his knowledge of You and Your kingdom.

**

We thank You today for the heroes You have provided us and ask You to increase the numbers of heroes called by Your name in our houses of Government. Restore and heal us, Sir, as we cry to You for deliverance. “Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on and loving-kindness for us, for we are exceedingly satiated with contempt. Our life is exceedingly filled with the scorning and scoffing of those who are at ease and with the contempt of the proud (irresponsible tyrants who disregard God's law).” (Ps. 123:3,4) We proclaim that Jesus is Lord over the United States of America. Amen.

GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS!

Dear God, who suffered
torment, agony and death upon the Cross
to free our souls from the chains of iniquity;
protect and defend our troops.
Guide them in the performance of
their Duties.
Strengthen them to endure hardship,
danger, and deprivation in
Your service.
Let their efforts free the people
of Iraq from the chains of terror
and slavery, foster a lasting peace
in the region, and bring all to a
greater share in Your mercy.
Amen.

Soldier’s Psalm 91 Prayer
By Harriet Yoder

O Lord Most High, help me to dwell in your secret place and abide under Your shadow.

Help me to believe and say out loud for everyone to hear that You are my refuge and my fortress; that You are my God; and that in You I put my trust.

O Lord God Almighty, please deliver me from hidden traps and diseases.

Father God, cover me with Your camouflage; hide me under Your wings; and let Your truth be my shield and buckler against the fiery darts—the lies—of the enemy.

Lord Jesus, help me not to be afraid of terrorists’ attacks in the night; or weapons that fly by day; or sicknesses that walk in darkness; or destruction that wastes at noonday.

O Holy God, though a thousand fall at my side, and ten thousand fall at my right hand; please let it not come close to me and my companions.

O Lord Most High, let me live to see the reward of the wicked, because You are my refuge and my home. Let no evil conquer me and let no plague come into my house or near my family.

O Lord, my Strength and my Redeemer, please set angels over me to keep me in all Your ways, to bear me up in their hands and to keep my feet from stumbling.

Father God, help me to tread upon the lion and adder and trample the young lion and the dragon under my feet.

Lord Jesus, I love you with all my heart and I know Your name. Deliver me and lift me on high to soar with the eagles. I call upon you to be with me in times of trouble to deliver and honor me because I know Your name. Please show me Your salvation and satisfy me with a long life.

I ask this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ

Amen.

AMEN SISTER AND GRACE TO ALL CHRISTIAN PATRIOTS!

“Help, Lord.”
- Psalm 12:1

The prayer itself is remarkable, for it is short, but seasonable,
sententious, and suggestive. David mourned the fewness of faithful men,
and therefore lifted up his heart in supplication-when the creature
failed, he flew to the Creator. He evidently felt his own weakness, or he
would not have cried for help; but at the same time he intended honestly
to exert himself for the cause of truth, for the word “help” is
inapplicable where we ourselves do nothing. There is much of directness,
clearness of perception, and distinctness of utterance in this petition of
two words; much more, indeed, than in the long rambling outpourings of
certain professors.
The Psalmist runs straight-forward to his God, with a well-considered
prayer; he knows what he is seeking, and where to seek it.
Lord, teach us to pray in the same blessed manner.

The occasions for the use of this prayer are frequent. In providential
afflictions how suitable it is for tried believers who find all helpers
failing them. Students, in doctrinal difficulties, may often obtain aid by
lifting up this cry of “Help, Lord,” to the Holy Spirit, the great
Teacher. Spiritual warriors in inward conflicts may send to the throne for
reinforcements, and this will be a model for their request. Workers in
heavenly labour may thus obtain grace in time of need. Seeking sinners, in
doubts and alarms, may offer up the same weighty supplication; in fact, in
all these cases, times, and places, this will serve the turn of needy
souls.
“Help, Lord,” will suit us living and dying, suffering or labouring,
rejoicing or sorrowing.
In him our help is found, let us not be slack to cry to him.

The answer to the prayer is certain, if it be sincerely offered through
Jesus. The Lord’s character assures us that he will not leave his people;
his relationship as Father and Husband guarantee us his aid; his gift of
Jesus is a pledge of every good thing; and his sure promise stands, “Fear
not, I WILL HELP THEE.”
