This is a newspaper article from a questionable source, since L’Osservatore is widely known to harbor many people within it who are actively opposed to BXVI. In addition, it was referring to Cdl Bertone, who has been a big mistake as Vatican Secy of State, IMHO. He has fumbled a number of dealings with European heads of state and I’m not entirely sure he’s on the same side with BXVI.
The only thing I’m curious about is why we haven’t seen or heard much from the Pope, not about Obama, but about anything. He was away on his trip to the Middle East until just a couple of days before the “apparition of The One,” so it’s quite possible that he was not very well informed about this or simply too tired and distracted by his trip to handle it.
The Pope did meet with Burke, and that was when Burke made some very strong statements, presumably with the approval of BXVI. So I think there’s a lot more to this story than meets the eye, and I think it’s also possible that one of the intentions of the people publishing it was to dishearten faithful Catholics. That is a typical left-wing press strategy.

Burke is the one to watch. Think of when His Holiness was Josef Cardinal Ratzinger and they called him the Rottweiler of the Vatican. That was his role then. Now he is a King. He has to be more politik. Now Raymond Cardinal Burke is the attack dog. Hmmm... how about an American Pope someday, many years in the future, God willing?
