***You may want to thank men like Tyndale that lost their lives to your Roman thugs. ***

Your history is as accurate as your theology.

Tyndale was captured in Belgium by agents of Henry VIII and put to death by the Reformers.

***You would still be groveling to the big hats to get a crumb of their sanitized theology thrown to you were it not for the brave men that would cowtow to the Pope.***

Your spelling is as accurate as your history.

***And we are not interested in joining you in the chains you love.***

Eph 6:
18
With all prayer and supplication, pray at every opportunity in the Spirit. To that end, be watchful with all perseverance and supplication for all the holy ones
19
and also for me, that speech may be given me to open my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel
20
for which I am an ambassador in chains, so that I may have the courage to speak as I must.

We Catholics are in chains to Christ. Nice to know that others enjoy the freedom of the lord of this world.

***Henry VIII, a Roman thug?

When your worldview consists of the 25 acres that you plow with a horse, a village that only recently acquired electricity, an overwhelming belief that King James wrote the Bible that Jesus used, and that teeth beyond the age of 25 are against the Lord’s will, what do you expect?

I suspect that we are dealing with a recent resident of an Amish Paradise.

Go re read your post, Mark. You are the one who said, “meat” for “meet”. Don’t embarrass yourself.

I’d love to continue to point out the errors of Catholicism with the hope you could escape their clutches, but my wisdom tells me you love your enslavement to the Vatican more than Christ.

I’m still chuckling over homeboy’s claim that the Parthenon is in Corinth.

I don’t use either word in post 81. I don’t feel embarrassed at all.

***I’d love to continue to point out the errors of Catholicism ***

You haven’t pointed out any so far. How can you continue to do something that you haven’t yet started to do?

***but my wisdom tells me you love your enslavement to the Vatican more than Christ.***

Who is your wisdom? See Ahhh, and I’ll look for him. We are enslaved to Christ; who are you enslaved to?

There are two Greek words for “rock”. In the renaming of Peter, “petra (f)” is used, from which Simon bar-Jonas’ new name is coined by Christ, Kefas, rendered as Petros (m), by the St. Evangelist Matthew. St. Peter in his epistles uses mostly “lithos”, and refers to Christ and also to all Christians as non-sacramental priests.

There are various typological references in the Old Testament to Rock being Christ.

One can refer to St. Peter as rock as well as to Christ as rock, to the faith of St. Peter as rock, and, I suppose, to any male head of household as rock, although the latter I never encountered in a theological sense. All these typological references would be consistent with the foundation of the Catholic Church, which is Chirst, Faith, the Royal Priesthood, and Papacy.

So, what is your question or comment?

This is just what I was getting at...first your team denies that Petros/Petra exist (”it was not in Aramaic”), then when you finally do admit it, you bring up spurious concepts which have nothing to do with the argument.

Been fun. Next time, same channel.

Sad to see this thread went down a rabbit hole... keep up the good fight.

I am just trying to figure out what is your argument. Of course petros and petra are two different words, one is masculine proper noun, the other feminine.

(”it was not in Aramaic”)

Your post #90 is the first time that phrase appears in this thread. Who are you quoting?

I am sorry if it is not the intention, but Dutchboy asked me quite a bit about the Catholic priesthood back at Christmas, so I decided to ping him to this.

Sir Dutchboy, I must congratulate you. I have never seen a thread with as many posts in which a poster manages to get absolutely nothing correct.

A triumph.

***A veritable Tour de Farce!***

I’m going to call up my travel agent and get a package tour to Corinth to see the Parthenon. I should invite our geographically challenged friend along.

And then I’ll visit the Eiffel Tower in Prague, the Colossus at Cairo, the Pyramids outside of Moscow and follow it up with a weekend at Easter Island in Lake Ontario.
