>> Yes, Vet. That would be in the past. He was talking to his disciples. He told them to watch, not us. ;) <<

What, you think the gospels are some sort of blog? “Dear Diary,...”

The gospels are written to teach us the truth about Christ, not so 12 men could reminisce.

I can’t help myself here, but you are a freaking idiot and a heretic. What other important Christian doctrines do you deny?

How did you become a chaplain if you don't even know the basics? Have you ever even healed a sick person by the holy Spirit dropping down on you? Cast out demons? You know, stuff Jesus said believers would do?

Please bring scripture to back up your "heretic" claims Chaplain, because, you're about to get schooled. :)

[Jesus told the disciples he would come back and take them to heaven in their lifetime. If he didn’t come back, then, he lied.]

No. You are lying because you don’t search the scriptures. If you did, you would not be an amillenialist or a sectarian religious Christian or even state such a slander.
You did it in ignorance is my opinion. However, you need to as Jesus the Christ of Israel, Lord and Saviour of the body of Christ, and coming King has said;
“Search the scriptures, for in them you think you have life and they are they which speak of me.”
You would do well to heed the warning because there is A WAY THAT SEEMETH RIGHT UNTO A MAN BUT THE END THEREOF IS DEATH.

Jesus came back & the early church left, with him. The rapture is past, the beast & false prophet also, the two witnesses are long gone, as are the 144,000. We live at the very end of history, when Satan is let loose, the armies from the North attack God's people, fire from the sky comes down and kills them, and there is a new heaven and new earth. And the final act is the Bride coming out of heaven. And then it's over. :)

Uh huh. According to Peter, the return of the Lord will be simultaneous with the end of all things. And according to Jesus, the sons of the kingdom are present in the world along with the sons of the evil one until the very end when the angels are sent out first to root out all evil from the world and then gather up the righteous. With such clear descriptions available, the apocalyptic imagery of Revelation has to be interpreted in light of the more clear and concise, not vice versa.

You ARE partly right, however. Many events which fundamentalist make-it-up-as-you-go preachers ae waiting for have happened already. Your mistake is you are still holding onto some of their false presumptions. There has been no rapture between the time of John and today, as certain of these preachers understand it. Yet, the dead saints have risen to Heaven. The body of Christ is manifest in the world today, and we are living in the age where Satan has been been let loose apon the world.

The Kingdom of God is still at hand. It has not left, and never will. Where is it?

[I sure hope that there is a FreeRepublic on the new earth!]

Won't need it. Then, Christ Jesus and God the Father and all His children will understand when Christ Jesus gives us our new bodies and mind, the soul is saved already and indwelt by the Holy Spirit. I think all who believe that the Church is capable of ruling and reigning and bringing the world into subjection have a terrible minintrepatation of the Scriptures and all bible prophecy. The vile person shall no more be called liberal.

I notice you don’t bring any scriptures to back up your claims. You sound like you’re possibly unstable. Do you take any medications? Please bring scripture if you’re going to try and prove something, not just, crazy ramblings.

[I think that he was most likely referring to the generation which would be present to witness all of the particular signs of which he spoke.]

Absolutely correct. And that generation saw the rebirth of Israel in the land of Israel where the God of Israel is gathering them to bring in and fulfil the latter day prophecies that result in the 7 year wrath of God on all unbeleivers of men and Satan and his unholy angels (aka, the seven year tribulation), followed by the 2nd advent of Jesus Christ on the earth as Lord and King of all nations. The 21 seperate judgements on Israel and the whole earth is necessary to bring in the 1000 year rule of Jesus Christ on the earth.
Mankind can not do this as anyone who thinks and discerns knows, as the scriptures plainly teach unto those who believe and read the scriptures.
Sola Scriptura.

>> You must be very powerful to have both the spirit of Christ and The Holy Spirit, rather than them having you. <<

“We hold a treasure, not made of Gold, of untold wealth in earthen vessels.”

>> Mat 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: <<

“From the sixth hour, there was darkness over all the land, until the ninth hour... and suddenly the veil of the Sanctuary was torn in two, from top to bottom, the earth quaked, the rocks were split, the tombs opened and the bodies of many holy people arose from the dead, and these, after His resurrection, came out of the tombs, entered the holy city, and appeared to a number of people. The centurion, together with the others guarding Jesus, had seen the earthquake and all that was taking place, and they were terrified, and said, ‘Truly, this man was the Son of God.’”

Seeing that the Second Coming hasn’t arrived, it suggests that the word “generation” has a different meaning in this context. Nice try, fella.

True... you are getting there. The question is: within who? And, if the kingdom of Heaven is within us, where shall we see all those things which John said he saw?

Jesus doesn't rule on earth in the millenium.

Joh 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.

Joh 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I come again, and will receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

He said he was coming back to take them to where he was, which was, in heaven

(as certain of these preachers understand it. Yet, the dead saints have risen to Heaven.)

Satan always causes people to doubt the word of God by using lies, half lies, and even truth to a certain extent.
The dead saints spirit is with God in heaven, the body is dust in the grave. When the rapture that Paul spoke of occurs, the body will be raised incorruptible and immortal and joined once again to the cleansed soul. We have three parts, body and soul and spirit. The body is dead because of sin, the spirit is life because God saves us by grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ our Lord. You need to read all the Scriptures of the Apostle Paul, the revelations given unto him by Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, to understand more clearly exactly what God is doing.Than you need to read all the Scripture of the Holy Bible so you can understand the ressurection of the body. Your statement is incorrect and no lie is of the truth.Liberals think lies are truth because they choose to beleive what they think is true. They too are liars.
Let God be true and every man a liar...

No. You are lying because you don’t search the scriptures.

1Jn 2:18 Little children, it is the last hour: and as ye heard that antichrist cometh, even now have there arisen many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last hour.

2Ti 4:1 I do fully testify, then, before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who is about to judge living and dead at his manifestation and his reign--

Jas 5:8 Be ye also patient; establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

There are plenty of scriptures. I just didn't want to fill up 100 pages. Lol. ;) :D

For those interested my favorite radio ministry, Turning Point with pastor Dr. David Jeremiah is on the discussion of the end times through studies of the book of Daniel.
The second coming, the Antichrists, the tribulation are all being discussed over the last several weeks. Its been a very good series. You can here the radio pod-cast on the link below.

http://www.davidjeremiah.org/site/radio.aspx Dr. Jeremiah also wrote books and articles on the subject. Here is one: From this Point Forward Can We Know When Christ will Return? Listen and Watch for the Signs by David Jeremiah In 1843 there was a man by the name of William Miller living in New England who was an ardent believer in the Second Coming of Christ. Unfortunately, he began basing his speculations upon mathematical calculations. He collected all the data, analyzed it, and was absolutely sure he had made no mistakes in his calculations. He announced to his followers that on March 21, 1843, Jesus Christ would return to earth. Miller’s ardent followers prepared their ascension robes, went into the mountains, and even climbed trees at midnight on the appointed day. They expected the Lord to take them home, so they climbed as high as possible so they would have less distance to travel through the air! Needless to say, the day came and went without the Lords’ return, and the Millerites went home to a late breakfast on March 22nd followed by jeers from their neighbors. How can we know Jesus will come again? One passage in the Bible answers that question. In Matthew 24 and 25 Jesus gave a sermon to His disciples in answer to a question. It was the longest answer our Lord ever offered to a question put before Him. The key points are: No Man Knows the Time of Christ’s Return. We cannot set a date for Christ’s return. Only God the Father knows when it will occur. All we can do is prepare ourselves for that day, for it is coming soon. No Angel Knows the Time of Christ’s Return. The Bible says that nothing in either the natural world or the supernatural world knows when Jesus will return. The angels have constant access to God and are continuously awaiting His commands. Isaiah 6 tells us that they hover around His throne. Matthew 18 says they are in unbroken communion with God. Jesus even revealed that the angels will be agents of judgment at the Second Coming and will gather believers who survive the Tribulation. Yet in spite of all this, even they don’t know when Christ will return. Not Even the Son of Man Knows the Time of His Return. Many people struggle with this passage. How can Jesus be omniscient and not know the time of His return? But at the same time Jesus said these words, He had divested Himself of the independent use of His attributes. When Jesus said these words, He had taken the form of a man and did not know the time of the Second Coming. But when He rose from the dead and was given a glorified body, He knew. He knows now and looks forward to that day. So no one who claims to have figured out the date of Christ’s return is speaking for the Lord. Although we can’t know the exact time, Christ did say that we can listen and watch for His given signs. There is going to be a seven-year Tribulation, and the events leading up to that time will be marked by wars, famine, and disease. When the Rapture takes place, the Christians on earth will go up to meet Him in the air. Immediately after, the Antichrist, a one-world government leader, will set up a seven-year covenant with Israel to restore the Jewish sacrifices. Halfway through that agreement, the Antichrist will break it, install himself as the figure to be worshipped, and begin the most severe persecution of the Jews ever. The abomination that causes desolation will be the moment when the Antichrist breaks his covenant with the Jewish people. The Jews will reject the Antichrist, and 144,000 Jews will become born-again evangelists, preaching the good news of the kingdom to lost souls on earth. Some will accept the truth, but those who do will suffer persecution. At the end of the seven years, Christ will return in glory to begin a thousand-year reign of righteousness on earth. Christ shared all this information to help Christians understand and live for the end times. Beginning in verse 36 of chapter 24, Jesus tells stories that illustrate the proper response to His instruction. First, He tells the story of Noah, saying, “As the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” The purpose of that story is to help us understand that the whole world will be carrying on normally, just as they were in Noah’s day. Nobody sees the significance of the world events until evil is reigning and the Lord returns to shut the evil out of heaven. Don’t fool yourself into thinking that Jesus is not going to return. It’s easy to forget about His return, and maybe even to think that since He hasn’t been around for two thousand years, perhaps He’ll never come back. In the 25th chapter, Jesus tells more stories. He begins with the story of the wise and foolish virgins. The five wise virgins had prepared their lamps with oil for the midnight wedding celebration and so were able to participate in it. The five foolish virgins failed to prepare and missed the festivities. The meaning of that story is simple: Be prepared. Always be ready, and watch for the Lord’s return. Next, Jesus tells the story of the wealth man who traveled to a far country, leaving his goods in the hands of three trusted servants. The story reminds us that, as stewards, all we have is what the Lord has entrusted to us. We own nothing; it all belongs to God and He is letting us use it for His purposes. He wants us to manage it well while He is gone, for one day He is coming back and will demand an accounting. The issue is not how much God has entrusted to you, but what you do with what you have. Two stewards in Christ’s story invested their talents and multiplied them. The third steward did nothing with his talent and was condemned. The Lord told this story because He expects His followers to be resourceful people, investing their time, talent, and treasure for the purposes of God. In His final story in Matthew 25, Jesus tells of separating the sheep and the goats. The purpose of that story was to tell us how the Tribulation will end. During those difficult days a person who has come to know Christ as Savior will take his life in his hands to help feed or care for a Jew. His actions will reveal the authenticity of his faith. God’s people will care for one another. They will offer food to the hungry, drink to the thirsty, shelter to the homeless, clothing to the naked, encouragement to the sick, and friendship to those in prison. In doing so, they will put their own lives in danger. Many will refuse to help due to fear, and in so doing will reveal that they do not really believe Christ is who He says He is. On that last day, they will cry to the Lord, “Didn’t we claim to know You?” And the Lord will answer, “I never knew you.” God’s people will evidence God’s love. Faith without action is dead faith. Christ is calling us to e right, and to act right toward others. These stories remind us to be ready, to be resourceful, to be real, and to be right. In light of the fact that He is coming soon, make sure you know Him and He is in charge of your life. When you get to the bottom line of any prophecy, there is always an evangelistic message from God. Prophecy exists to remind us that a day is coming when there will be a sorting out. One day we will all stand before God and He will sort out the sheep and the goats. Some people who look and act like sheep will be found to be goats, and not worthy to stand in the presence of the king. But God will know which is which, and He will make that final decision. So, the message of prophecy is not only that we had better be sure about our relationship with Jesus Christ, but that there is so much to do until He comes!
