It HAS to be a joke. A pro-abortion maniac who signed into law funding of embryonic stem cell slaughter will receive a Doctor of Laws from Notre Dame???
Well ... this is personal and I'll tread lightly.
It seems to me that your presence on this thread suggests that you do care. A little, anyway. And your statement in #51 is precisely an expression of having been "given scandal" ... in this case, by the administration of ND. A quick letter to the Bishop or phone call to the chancery would not be out of line.
CORRECTING MYSELF! HOLY CROSS not Sacred Heart!

Is Obama going to perform a dramatic reading of The Vagina Monologues?
“I mean how can in one hand they say dont support abortion and then say welcome to this abortionist-in-chief?”

The problem lies in the fact that the Church is so big and so old, that even with the heirarchal structure of Catholicism, there are just too many....let’s call them, non-faithful, hiding under the very large entity that is the Catholic Church.
Can the bishops and the Pope do better?
Heck yes. I was very disappointed for example, that a much more public Papal admonition of Nancy Pelosi was not made in her recent crass political visit to Rome.
I hate BC more than USC...now.
It all started going downhill with Faust (I’m going to go from high school coaching to Notre Dame...Doh...What were they thinking!)
Coach Holtz was good and got them up a notch.
Bob Davies was a disaster.
Then the horses and talent started going “no way”, I might have to study...hard.
I still fondly remember Joe Montana
A Catholic university should not have a pro-abortion celebrity give a commencement speech - it goes against the basic tenets of the faith.
You’re right I do care. Here we are fighting this fight and a group like the Catholic Church could swing a big stick.
This despicable man voted THREE times to deny medical care to a baby unfortunate enough to be born alive after a botched abortion.
NO... the less he "works" the better off we are.
Oh, if you were only correct but I fear you are not. If that were the truth, they would never have invited him in the first place. Besides, we know he will not allow criticism.
I ask permission to revise and extend my remarks.....I pray the Church will not remain silent....
Good for you. My predicition is that after the size of the outcry, someone will find a way to cancel this. Keep it up!!!

ND's faculty has been infiltrated by a lot of annoying anti-Catholic non-Catholics and pro-abortion liberals. It's no longer "the Catholic Church" that people are dealing with at Notre Dame.
On second thought: I hope he takes a 6-month vacation -—twice a year. That, and (see tagline)...
Your 100% correct to be angry, my friend, but if you’re using this as a reason to abandon, or remain separated from, the Church, you must ask yourself whether you’re part of the solution, or part of the problem. In all seriousness...See tagline.
Correction: Holy Cross, CSC.
