A Saint Patrick’s Day pamphlet on Angels from the Irish
The Irish | 3-17-2009 | brianbaldwin

I am not Irish nor even Christian but this is probably a good day to share a short pamphlet on Angels from the Kelts of which I am no authority. But there is probably no better authority than fourth Century Irishmen, though the Book of Kells is probably ca. 800 A.D. after the death of Jesus Christ, and being I believe the old school is closer to the real times that they would know better than me.

First off, of course, we mush wish everyone a Happy Saint Patrick’s Day, a brave Roman he was being captured by a bunch of savage Irish raiders and taken away from his dear Mother in Wales to be a house slave to barbarians. He finally was able to escape a few years shortly afterwards being that some of his captors were in the drink at the time, but he later returned to his beloved green Ireland where he taught the savages about angels and Jesus.

Now let us quote Saint Patrick the Brave Roman Britain, “there are two Patricks”. Not sure what that means, but after he died some say they saw him in two places at the same time, afterwards he was considered empowered and his relics buried in a shrine by Colum Cille.

Now the Book of Kells (Celtics) has been long of controversy, and investigators have gone from the forests of Ireland all the way to the birthplace of Mother Mary to find the answers, but perhaps we can look to Iona, an island off Mull in Western Scotland and so that would damper the donkey if The Book of Kells were Scotch and not Irish from the Kells, county Meath, in Ireland. Now this same monastery of Iona was founded in 561 by, yes, Colum Cille himself who buried the relics of St. Patrick the Brave.

Whatever the case, there little doubt from the fine artwork of the Book, that the Celtics had their hand in it’s making, and let us count on them to give us the facts on Angels.

First off, we can find that the word Angel itself means messager translated into Irish from Greek, and back to English. That the angels were for the most part unseen but “constant presence”.

From which we can allude that angels are constantly looking at us.

They are also told by the Irish people of old that angels are “intermediaries”. That being, between God and man. And also God and woman.

Now Angels come in two letters, angels and Angels, of which both have and or had the sight of God. Some particular Angels will be at was is known as the Last Judgment, of which is coming.

Now we have all heard of Jesus the Christ, King of Israel and of the family of David. One way to understand angels is to consider at which times in the Life of Jesus on Earth there were angels and Angels.

First of all, the expects of the Kells tell us that Angels were present at the birth of Jesus. And we learn from the Irish that angels, unseen, are at the birth of every single child in the world. They are there watching everything, the “unseen presence”. In fact this can be, and has been, proven over and over again for which there is no need to even argue about it to the incontinence of idiots who do not know anything beyond their own selfish delusions. Angels are also there at the time of abortion, of which is a crime.

Now we can see from the Kells that three Angels were with Jesus at birth. So take note, for everyone, the time of birth is an important moment.

Now we can see from the Kells that Angels were with Jesus in the desert.

And though it was in the desert that Jesus were are told by the Irish, saw angels, and we can all see that the desert is no ordinary place. For me, I love the desert. For example, and I don’t exactly know why and perhaps it is something in my upbringings and youth that when I think of the Joshua Tree, I think of angels. And I don’t know exactly why. I do not think there were any Joshua Trees in the desert of Jesus. But I certainly believe that deserts hold a special place in the heart of angels. Do you agree?

Now another place where Angels came to Jesus during the “agony”. So we can see, that it can be the same for those in that not only are angels always present and looking “unseen” (though not necessarily intently observing but bored with us all), they can be felt as “seen” if there is a particular need during agony. This has also been proven time and again.

Now Angels were also prepared to “defend Jesus” when Christ was arrested for breaking Roman Law. So we can see that angels are not necessarily “peaceful” but can draw angel swords if so taken the need. Angels are not “peacenicks” in any manner, and if God so chooses they can even defend and strike.

So we can see there is nothing wrong with perhaps a nation asking the help of God and in particular Angels to strike down the enemy of angels and God and so on. And, it may even happen, or at time angels provide secret service and bring messages or perform acts for God.

Do you agree? I think the Irish have it right on this one, and I do.

Of course, Angels also witnessed Christ’s resurrection. From what I can see from the Book of Kells they came in groups of four, I think they were probably somewhat accurate on that. At least there were quite a number of Angels with Jesus at that time. Now this brings up directly the names of some Angels you might know of.

That would be Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, and Uriel, though we may be pronouncing and spelling them in somewhat Irish-Britton-Roman accent to them. Now we also learn from the Irish that angels “hold things in Their hands”. Being that we know they have some “sword object”, and “in their hands”, we can see they can look like something like us in that they have hands if they become visable. Which is very interesting. Now it appears from the information provided by the Irish that angels have been know to hold certain things, being a “sword object”, and also a “glass book”.

In regards to the “glass book”, we are told by Colum Cille that only the worthy are afforded the site of angels, but the term “worthy” is not a ranking in aristocracy or wealth or age or even wisdom. When angels, who are “unseen” and “present”, become partially “visible”, this is called by the Irish of old a “visitation”. Angels seem never to be “preachers”, rather they simply give a very direct “message” of a particular subject. It is not something they “thought of”, it was told to them to tell someone else. And sometimes they carry an object in the hand, such as the “glass book”.

They may also come to fight someone who has magic or demon powers, such as when angels fought the magician Broichan (according to the Irish). You will notice that in many of such battles in the past, the demon carries a “rod”.

Now when Colum Cille died, he was accompanied to heaven by a host of angels.

According to the Irish, when that happened, the light of the angels lit up “the entire sky of the Island”.

You can see, angels in fact emit light directly.

And so I hoped you enjoyed this little pamphlet on angels.

By the way, I am a fan of a particular baseball team, of which I mention only for the amusement of St. Patrick’s Day. You got it – the Anaheim (Los Angeles) Angels.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

“I do not think there were any Joshua Trees in the desert of Jesus. But I certainly believe that deserts hold a special place in the heart of angels. Do you agree?”

When I go up on the mountain, I am in a cathedral.
The huge rocks are the altar and pews and the trees are the spires.
The woodland creatures are the congregation.

The Trinity and the heavenly host are there with me.

[YMMV]...:)

When ever I watch a sun set and praise God for His beauty I feel I am in the presence of angels. Whenever I am in praise I feel surrounded by angels and they are praising with me. It is as though our angels are always waiting to hear words of praise cross our lips. This seems to be their greatest joy.

"Now when Colum Cille died, he was accompanied to heaven by a host of angels."

"Men and brethren, let me freely speak to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. For David is not ascended into the heavens." (Acts 2:29,34)

"And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man." -- John 3:13

Apparently these people do not know their bible, it says that no man has seen God.

Well, I certainly make no claim to be a Bible scholastic. I am glad there are folks who take the time and heart into the Bible.

The version of the Bible dear to my heart is the old classic Hurlbut's Story of the Bible" - 1901 release. I keep that one with me and read it.

You know, to me Jesus is like, without sounding insulting, the image I see from Mel Gibson's "Passion" - Gibson has a genius of which I greatly admire, and even though I have always viewed Jesus in such a light in my own heart, to me Jesus is so handsome and such a brave and powerful, and certainly Son of God, that if he came to me what man could not follow him? It is so easy to see why they did.

I am not a Christian, so I cannot speak on authority regardin Christianity, but I certainly love Jesus and I hope you can understand that.

If you are wondering what religion I am, I cannot give you a name for it, but I can say I am very "old school", an "old soul" if you will, I like things traditional, and I actually enjoy the old things and old ways and even the pomp and ceremony. I also appreciate folks such as yourself how take the time to study these things.

Of Christians, I like them all, but I particularly like the old school, meaning the Catholic religion, Eastern Orthodox and such, but I am also very, very impressed with the Mormons.

Anyway, I hope I am not offending anyone.

Suddenly Zacharias saw an angel from the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense. He felt a great fear when he saw this strange being, with shining face; but the angel said to him: "Do not be afraid, Zacharias; for I have come from the Lord to bring you good news. Your wife Elizabeth shall have a son, and you shall name him John.”

One more post (sorry) before St. Pat's day is done, quote from the old school:

"But, as he lay asleep one night, the heavenly messenger came once more to him and pointed out the path which God would have him tread. It seemed to (Saint) Patrick that the angel held in his hand a bundle of letters, and on one was written "the voice of the Irish." This he gave to Patrick, who, as he read, seemed to hear the call of many voices echoing from the land where he had been a slave. Even the voices of little children rang in his ears, and all of them were calling to him and saying, "We entreat thee, come and walk still in the midst of us.""

Baldwin - again, we see an angel with "hand" ... that they look like us.

The only true portrayal of Jesus in the passion was His being beaten bloody. They did not come to Him because of His beauty and charm. They came to Him because they wanted something, they wanted healing, their bellies filled and in the end He was left to Himself. There are many thing that are religious that has nothing to do with Jesus.

Man loves showiness, loves to appear more than what he is, my dad use to call it putting on the dog.
