Well, I certainly make no claim to be a Bible scholastic. I am glad there are folks who take the time and heart into the Bible.

The version of the Bible dear to my heart is the old classic Hurlbut's Story of the Bible" - 1901 release. I keep that one with me and read it.

You know, to me Jesus is like, without sounding insulting, the image I see from Mel Gibson's "Passion" - Gibson has a genius of which I greatly admire, and even though I have always viewed Jesus in such a light in my own heart, to me Jesus is so handsome and such a brave and powerful, and certainly Son of God, that if he came to me what man could not follow him? It is so easy to see why they did.

I am not a Christian, so I cannot speak on authority regardin Christianity, but I certainly love Jesus and I hope you can understand that.

If you are wondering what religion I am, I cannot give you a name for it, but I can say I am very "old school", an "old soul" if you will, I like things traditional, and I actually enjoy the old things and old ways and even the pomp and ceremony. I also appreciate folks such as yourself how take the time to study these things.

Of Christians, I like them all, but I particularly like the old school, meaning the Catholic religion, Eastern Orthodox and such, but I am also very, very impressed with the Mormons.

Anyway, I hope I am not offending anyone.

Suddenly Zacharias saw an angel from the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense. He felt a great fear when he saw this strange being, with shining face; but the angel said to him: "Do not be afraid, Zacharias; for I have come from the Lord to bring you good news. Your wife Elizabeth shall have a son, and you shall name him John.”

The only true portrayal of Jesus in the passion was His being beaten bloody. They did not come to Him because of His beauty and charm. They came to Him because they wanted something, they wanted healing, their bellies filled and in the end He was left to Himself. There are many thing that are religious that has nothing to do with Jesus.

Man loves showiness, loves to appear more than what he is, my dad use to call it putting on the dog.
