As a Catholic priest, my life is dedicated to attempting to bring people to Jesus Christ. In our Catholic faith, we believe that Jesus makes himself uniquely present to us through our reception of the Eucharist.
Catholics, in receiving the Eucharist, profess their faith in the real presence of Jesus as well as their communion with His Church.
Catholics have a personal responsibility not to receive Holy Communion if they have with knowledge and intention committed a grave evil.
While I realize that most readers of The Star do not share my faith in the Eucharist, I share this brief description of Catholic belief to provide the context for my request that Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius not receive Holy Communion.
As a bishop, it is my responsibility to protect the integrity of the sacraments as well as the teaching of the Church.

The church needs to excommunicate all abortion supporters now!
The church needs to excommunicate all abortion supporters now!
Big BUMP for the Shepherd.

Mahony is a liberal. If that phony werent a priest, hed be an abortionist.

And how would you go about finding them all?
Good old Neumann. Gentle giant and soft-spoken speaker of truth.
Very public announcement of excommunication AS WELL AS substantial punishment to those priests that continue to give them Communion.
The same way law enforcement is finding all those illegals?
Round up the usual suspects...lol
Her son dates Sen Jay Rockefeller’s daughter, so they’re trying to get her before his Finance Cmte, instead of the the Health Labor Pensions Cmte. The Kansas lock-step reporters have been holding back a flood of bad news about her and the mess she’s made in our state.
Our senators have announced that they will not oppose the nomination 1. to get her out of the state and 2. to deprive the press of the chance to make mean old them the story.
As she is vetted in her own right, she’ll have a hard time keeping up the front that she’s manufactured.
I still don’t see the magic words, “You are hearby exommunicated until you publicaly denounce your position on abortion”
Bump for the Archbishop. Sibelius allowed Tiller to Killer to operate in her state. She is not pro-life, but then God will deal with her!
I am also grateful that by releasing this letter there is, for a brief moment, a public place for a comment which might be heard by Fr. Nauman.
Earlier this week, I was angered by a comment that Archbishop Raymond L. Burke, Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, was reported to have made. His comment was to the effect that "Gov. Sebelius' appointment is 'the source of the greatest embarrassment because she has publicly and repeatedly betrayed her Catholic faith.'"
I am still angry. I am angry because the Governor has been allowed to remain an unrepentant Catholic and become such an embarrassment. How embarrassed will the Church be if Ms. Sebelius is an unrepentant, Catholic president elect?
