What is going on with our Electromagnetic Field? it seems to be Collapsing. Is this one of the *Signs* Jesus wants us to take notice of? what about the Mayan and Hopi Prophecy's? are they also eluding to the end time events we find in the Holy Bible? (Luke 21:24-28) They shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be fed away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. Something serious is happening in the cosmos. Have a look at the magnetosphere. It appears the fields are reversed or non-existent. No magnetosphere is something we have been warned about (there has been a huge hole in it for a few years now) and it really does appear to be so:

Looks like Earth's charge is running down. No new current is flowing in. Blue lines should be on top and red lines on bottom, such as the magnetic field should dictate.
But they are not in such a way. The polarity is going the opposite way.
Should also be noted that there were many Gamma Ray Bursts today (10 in the past 7 days): http://grb.sonoma.edu/index.php And now this: COSMOS IS FALLING: The first fragments of shattered satellite Cosmos 2251 are about to reenter Earth's atmosphere. According to US Strategic Command, fragment 1993-036PX will reenter on March 12th, followed by 1993-036KW on March 28th and 1993-036MC on March 30th. These are probably centimeter-sized pieces that will disintegrate in the atmosphere, posing no threat to people on the ground.
Cosmos 2251 was shattered on Feb. 10th when it collided with another satellite, Iridium 33. Cosmos 2251 possessed about one and a half times more mass than Iridium 33 and to date appears to have produced more than twice the number of fragments.

I’m beginning to wonder if it’s something in the holy water that REPLACEMENTARIAN, preterist, amil’s might drink that renders them incapable of making important distinctions.
Of course, the awake, aware and alert need no such lessons and the otherwise will not heed them but . . . just for the record, there they are! LOL.
Reading through a few of the posts regarding non-Christian Sources. It occurs to me to mention that there are quite a few Biblical Scholars (presumably even some of whom even the most “pious” people on this thread would recognize and support) have long used ancient civilization’s myths & stories, as well as historical documentation to PROVE parts of the Bible where it matches up with things that can be evidenced in these cultures (historical events, practices, etc...).
The other thing that occurs to me is that today’s Christians seem to think that before Christ no-one KNEW God in a personal way (I think Abraham and Moses would disagree), but HOW did they find God themselves??? Before the Torah, before the Bible, how did people come to find God - surely one would not say he “wasn’t there”!
Some of these ancient texts (prophecies, stories, myths - whatever you want to call them) were simply man’s way of explaining parts of the spiritual world around them - including GOD.
While I wouldn’t take the text of these myths (usually passed down in a spoken history tradition) as verbatim truth as many believe the Word of GOD in the Bible to be, but to say that there is NO WAY that ANY of these ancient civilizations’ myths and such can be proven to be NOT influenced by God in one way or another would be to completely ignore the nature of God himself, IMHO. God doesn’t need books - it is only us humans who need to put it down in some mentally organized way in order for us to be able to teach others, and recall lessons learned ourselves!!!
Obviously, it would take a VERY long drawn-out explanation to address all the little issues that come up during a discussion of this sort. However, I would caution people who throw the baby out with the bathwater when studying and acquainting themselves with the beliefs of ancient peoples’ to not dismiss everything so quickly.
God has spoken to man since the beginning of time, and HE will still be speaking to man’s spirits when all recognizable traces of our Earth are worn away.

I wonder what Moses’ friends waiting for him on the desert floor said when he descended the mountain with HIS “magical stone tablets” symbolizing the laws of God that would allow His people to prosper with power and authority, and to keep his Commandments here on Earth till the day He returns?
Why is Moses’ story treated as fact without question, and this Hopi story (which could’ve honestly been written about the EXACT SAME EVENT!!!) is treated as nothing more than pagan heresy — is it because the Pope declared that certain parts of the Bible should be included, and only those books (remember this happened WAY before the reformation folks)? It may also help to realize that it is highly doubtful that the Pope and his Cardinals sitting in Rome during the time of Constantine and the Council of Nicea had even a CLUE about some other civilizations halfway across the world and their beliefs — much less be able to make ANY comparison between the historical retellings of Moses receiving the 10 commandments as written in the Torah with the stories in these other cultures that AGAIN seem to point to the SAME EVENT!
Just because some of these ancient civilizations’ myths and stories don’t sound EXACTLY the same way as they are told in the Torah and the Bible doesn’t mean there is no truth in the other “versions”. If anything the appearance of these similar stories throughout ancient civilizations when communication was not even seemingly possible only leads to MORE PROOF that God was indeed speaking to man - and not just the Hebrews with Moses and his descendants!
I don’t pretend to understand everything God does here — it’s humanly impossible for our brains to comprehend the millions of little points that the Lord probably juggles on a daily basis to keep us all going here! LOL — however, I don’t pretend to presume that I DO understand it all. The rules and dogma of the Church as it exists today was MOSTLY made by MAN, and politics and power have long been a part of it. The rules were not made for GOD but for man.
How do we know that Israel didn’t receive its’ favored status because out of all the civilizations and people in the world at that time the Hebrews were the only ones who really “got it”, and were willing to submit themselves? The truth is - WE DON’T KNOW! God could have chosen a handful of people alive at the time to carry these things out (again in Moses’ time Hebrews weren’t the only people held in slavery). It could merely have come to the point that only Abraham was willing to kill his child, only Moses was willing to turn his back on the Pharoh and embrace God — maybe others in our world failed where they prevailed and THAT is why we have the Judeo-Christian roots we have today...
No-one on this thread is saying to chuck out your Bible and embrace the Mayan or Hopi way of life. But, I think the saddest thing for all Christians happens when we fail to see God’s spectacular ability to speak to each man’s heart and soul - regardless of their language, how they grew up, and where they live, or what they believe. There was a reason God impressed upon these so-called “Pagans and Non-Believers” to commit these stories of creation, and the making of the tablets, etc... to memory and why God impressed upon them the desire to make sure their children knew these things. Consider this — perhaps these myths and stories were impressed upon the minds of these men BY GOD so that in the future when their descendants were exposed to Christianity THEY could see the TRUTH that crossed the oceans without ships???

Though I totally believe that ISRAEL AS THE CHOSEN PEOPLE basically has to do with 2 things.
1. GOD’S PROMISES TO HIS BUDDY, HIS FRIEND ABRAHAM
and
2. GOD’S GLORY—HIS DETERMINATION TO HAVE A CHOSEN PEOPLE THROUGH WHOM TO MAXIMALLY DEMONSTRATE HIS GLORY.

Thanks, Quix. Coming to the end of my post I think my explanation turned a corner and makes more sense as to the WHYs of these coincidences. I do believe as you that Israel’s status comes from the covenant made with Abraham - so I guess that including Moses’ into that is a little “after the fact”! LOL When I brainstorm I usually end up with thoughts of situations and solutions that COULD fit, but end up dismissing them later! That doesn’t translate well when half of the brainstorming occurs while WRITING the posts! LOL
