My dear grandson is receiving the holy sacrament of Baptism this Sunday. I ask for your prayers for his blessing, but I ask you to also pray for his father, my son, to fully receive God's grace. Although I raised him in the faith, my son has been away from the faith since his late teens.
The act of choosing to have his first child baptized, I pray, is my son's first step in coming back to the fold rather than just a social event.
9 Yrs ago a I was talking to a young lady, she had nominally been raised a Catholic and had had her first son baptized but through our conversation decided to baptize her other 2 children. We ended up going through RCIA together and all 3 of her children have been altar servers, in fact, the 2 youngest just served at the ordination of our new priest.
For many baptism of their children becomes the catalyst for deepening their own faith, so he’s on the right track.
Prayers.
May the Holy Spirit continue to do what he has always done: surprise everybody and bring to life dead bones.
Praying for a wonderful Sunday for your family!
And in a very special way, may your infant grandson help lead your son back to the faith that would enrich both of their lives so greatly.
Prayers for HOPE for your son and grandson! God Bless.

Prayers on the way!
Prayers are up.
This is wonderful news (choosing to baptize the child,) Bigg Red, and I hope you take great encouragement from it.
I will pray that your son comes back to the Church, as I once did.
I will pray. When our daughter was baptized my husband held her as the water was poured. He was not Catholic. He said he actually felt something happening to him when the water was poured. He felt it was the Holy Spirit. This led him to a conversion in 1990. I will pray for the same for your son!
God bless Red,
I was apostate in my early 20’s and made the journey back.
God put lots of the strangest of instruments in my way to bring this about. Sometimes I didn’t recognize God’s hand in the process until sometime later.
By the time my son was born I had come full circle. Your grandson will certainly bring your own closer to faith.
Hopefully, your daughter-in-law may be helpful throughout the process? Your son’s entire family will be the beneficiaries of his return to the Church.
The coolest thing, which I had not anticipated about becoming a father was the new insights into scripture; the reading of a son’s duty to a father in Sirach, the Prodigal Son and other scripture where the model is flipped and “you” are now the dad.
God bless the lot of you. Hope the weather holds out for a spring day.
Please keep in your prayers my friend L, that she finds a good man to love her and marry her.
Prayers for God’s blessings.
Thank you, FRiend. My son and I had a good conversation about this on Sunday. The Baptism was wonderful.
Great outcome for that family. Thank you for sharing that story and for your prayers.
Very happy to pray for blessings for your wonderful grandson and your son, on this very holy day.
Thank you for your prayers. Loved the image.
Thank you for your prayers. The Baptism was just perfect, and I am full of hope for my son and his family.
