I was just wondering with all the Mormon threads I see popping up every day has FR become a defacto Mormon site?
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I would offer that it's just the opposite. Most of the Mormon threads I see day in and day out are posted by Anti Mormons to facilitate an ongoing effort to mock.

Some FReepers have even admitted they will stop doing it only if Romney threads go away:

“Want it to end, stop pushing Mitt”

While they have attempted to hijack FR, the “Flying Inmams” and others have bravely fought their attempts.

many spend two years on missions, attempting to convert people to Mormonism. Why?

Oh seven,

keep dreaming, I (and others) will still be here even if Mitt gets “translated”.

Motivation was asked for, and an answer, given by one of your own was given.

Anything else?

Well, I don't push Mitt... I don't like Mitt, but it has nothing to do with his religion.

I know some wonderful Mormon's and they are very family and community-oriented. That is their privilege (so far, Obama could change that), but there is no way I could ever believe in what they believe. I've read about the religion and I just flat don't believe it... I also don't like when they come to my door and then won't leave until they have proselytized. It just seems like the number of Mormon threads have grown lately.

That's the beauty of this great country, the principle of religious freedom. You and me included. God bless America!
You are right, the LDS threads have increased many fold, as my last post stated.

Cheers

You gave a “proof text”, not a motivation. Motivation was given in posts #30 and #37

No, “Flying Inmans” like the name you yourself called us when you were attempting to call the Christians, “Flying Imams” and made a typo...

Resty, how soon you forget...

Ah, but there is where you miss the point, in the LDS mindset Conservatism=Mormonism just like Mormonism=Christianity. And, no i am not kidding.

I know the "Mormon mindset" pretty well, I work for a company based in Salt Lake City and my first wife was Mormon. I even went to a Mormon church for the better part of a year and paid a tithe to the church.

Mormon's are a very conservative group and some of my better friends are practicing Mormon's. I respectfully disagree however, with your assertion that all Mormon's behave in the manner we are seeing here on Free Republic. There are a few Mormon Freepers here who seem to be going out of their way to turn this website into an extention of their local ward.

I am really angry about this, it's actually offensive to shove your beliefs at those of other faiths all the time.

But only as far as MO...

Mitt wants to be there when Jesus returns to Missouri...

At least that’s what Mitt said...

I was speaking tongue in cheek — I hope — that Obama can take away a lot of our rights freedom of worship one of them... the man is evil IMHO

How abou tthe guy who struggles to catch his breath after having his head cut off (Ether 15:31).

And it came to pass that after he had smitten off the head of Shiz, that Shiz raised up on his hands and afell; and after that he had struggled for breath, he died.

***

I don’t suppose you ever saw a chicken run around the yard after its head was chop off!

>15 - religious discussions but they've got to be ecumenical

Hmmm, - not so fast.

ecumenical: 1: worldwide or general in extent, influence, or application

2 a: of, relating to, or representing the whole of a body of churches b: promoting or tending toward worldwide Christian unity or cooperation = (Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary)

Christian unity or cooperation

The Baptists, Lutherans, Assembly of God, etc. / the various Christian denominations, need to learn to work together, & I expect that they do. However, when someone develops their own religion that confuses and or rejects the basic teachings of the Bible & the Christian faith, then how & why would Christians want to work for "unity or cooperation" with religious leaders who distort and reject the essential message of Jesus?

We need to discuss the *major* differences in the beliefs of Christians and Mormons; and point out the clear message, truth and history of the Christian faith.

As Mormom leaders and followers insist on presenting a different and wrong message / mormon gos'spell-, it is appropriate and essential that Christians respond and join the discussion. And some of us may have to work on:

...always be prepared to give an account for the hope that is within you, ... with gentleness and reverence. 1 Peter 3:15

******************************************

I’m in agreement, this has nothing to do with how nice they are, but I resent people trying to shove things in my face and it’s one reason I jumped on this thread because just tonight I saw a couple more of their threads and my immediate thought was “what is going on here?” “is there something we haven’t been told and FR has become an extension of their church.”
