"God Became Man So That Man Might Become A God." St. Athanasius
... when the intellect has been perfected, it unites wholly with God and is illumined by divine light, and the most hidden mysteries are revealed to it. Then it truly learns where wisdom and power lie... While it is still fighting against the passions it cannot as yet enjoy these things... But once the battle is over and it is found worthy of spiritual gifts, then it becomes wholly luminous, powerfully energized by grace and rooted in the contemplation of spiritual realities. A person in whom this happens is not attached to the things of this world but has passed from death to life." St. Thalassios, "On Love, Self-control and Life in accordance with the Intellect" Philokalia (Vol. 2)", p. 355)
'Can a man take fire into his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?' (Prov. 6:27) says the wise Solomon. And I say: can he, who has in his heart the Divine fire of the Holy Spirit burning naked, not be set on fire, not shine and glitter and not take on the radiance of the Deity in the degree of his purification and penetration by fire? For penetration by fire follows upon purification of the heart, and again purification of the heart follows upon penetration by fire, that is, inasmuch as the heart is purified, so it receives Divine grace, and again inasmuch as it receives grace, so it is purified. When this is completed (that is, purification of heart and acquisition of grace have attained their fullness and perfection), through grace a man becomes wholly a god." St. Simeon the New Theologian (Practical and Theological Precepts no. 94, Writings from the Philokalia on Prayer of the Heart; Faber and Faber pgs. 118-199)

You seem to be saying that there was no God before “In the beginning”, maybe you might want to expand your thought.

Looks to me like you are trying to divert attention from my question.
You see nothing that we create, for, in truth, we create nothing out of nothing. We are farmers in the Lord’s garden, using what He has given us to benefit ourselves and, it is hoped, to offer praise to our Creator.
What happened before the earth was?
God the Father related to God the Son, the Alpha and Omega -- the Beginning and End. Jesus Himself told the Father:
And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began. (John 17:5)
Jesus has always been the Self-Existent One -- like the Father: "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." (Revelation 1:8)
There were no things even in existence before Jesus:
He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:17)
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. (John 1:3)
Was the Greek word for "made" organize? (Nope)
Strong's: Greek word is givnomai which means a prolongation and middle voice form of a primary verb; to cause to be ("gen"-erate), i.e. (reflexively) to become (come into being)...
So through Him all things came into being.
For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. (Col. 1:16)
And this last verse clearly shows that all authorities & rulers & authorities -- even angelic ones and demonic ones -- were made by Jesus Christ.
I have asked this question off and on over the months, and I only get snide remarks or mis-directed answers like your's. Just what do the Non-Mormon-Christians believe happened before In the beginning?
The reason why, I believe, is that in contrast to the passages I cited above, LDS essentially believe that the Mormon father-god is a "goo-to-you" god. IOW, LDS believe that the elements, the intelligences, and the spirits -- all of us -- were from eternal past.
Mormons believe in a form of evolution:
intelligence or element,
then becoming born as a pre-existent spirit,
then becoming born as a human person on earth
then potentially becoming a god
The Mormon god wasn't always a god...he was a mere man...and mere men weren't always men...they were once spirits...and Mormon spirits tend to be begotten or born. And those spirits were probably once intelligences in the beginning...and perhaps they were eternal elements once.
Hence, the Mormon god, from goo-to-you.
Correct me if I am wrong.
Before “in the beginning”, there was God, Jesus, and nothing.
Good luck...
Yeah but did Adam have a belly button?

Keep on guessing; for Fproy will NEVER tell you what HE believes.

Are you open to the "possibility" that Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon were both frauds?
