On 5 Feb, FReeper FocusNexus posted an article in News/Activism, titled Catholic group targets Republican senators in push for economic stimulus bill. It referenced a CNA article (Google archived here
This article talked about a media push by the group "Catholics United" to pressure senators to vote for the porkulus bill. The problem with this is that "Catholics United" is a liberal, pro-abortion group that has been criticized by members of the hierarchy, including Archbishop Chaput.
FReeper jla encouraged folks to respond to this article on the CNA website. 14 folks did.
I decided to check the CNA site to see if my "feedback" was actually posted and guess what? The article has now been updated on the CNA website. It is now called: Social justice group targets Republican senators over stimulus bill. (Of course, I would prefer them to by identified as "Heretical group," but something is better than nothing.
Even though CNA is NOT an official Catholic source and is not part of the MSM, it's surprising to see reader pushback having an effect!
I figured an update would be appropriate to let folks know that sometimes howling can have some impact!
ping to let you know that complaining actually works every now and again!!! (Also a thank you to those who took the time to complain to CNA)
High-fives all around!!!! This was a test run. We now have seen very REAL proof that raising a stink does work.
Good job!
Always nice to see “FReeping” at work.
Woo-hooo!! PTL!
Excellent ferreting, markomalley!
