The “Chosen One” is at best spiritual. He is not religious. Religion has rules and does not always make you feel good at the moment. Religion is about you getting closer to G_d. Spirituality is about god getting closer to you. IMHO
Absolutely right! When we attend church services, we meet God through HIs Word and the Sacraments. As this article notes, we are witnessing an insidious turning point in the history of our country when politicians approach religion as they would another demographic, manipulating scripture to suit their twisted ambitions. Note too the author's comments that truly religious people (those who actually practice their faith) consider themselves Republicans.
The battle lines are being drawn tighter and we must be prepared to fight to preserve our religious values.
