Friday night, our pastor's daughter was on her way home from work in Key West, on her motorcycle. She was struck and run over by a young man, how did not see her. She was non-responsive and not breathing. As soon as they pronounced her dead at the scene, she took a breath. She was life flighted to Ft. Lauderdale, and then to Miami. her family rushed from Missouri to be by her side.
The doctors determined that she suffered what could be called whiplash to the brain stem. She has been in a coma and on a ventilator since getting to the hospital; machines are keeping her alive. Her mother just sent out a request for prayer as the next 24 hours will be critical. I do not know the current details, but things are dire. Worst comes to worst, her parents may be faced with the agonizing decision of taking her off life support.
Angie is/was on fire for Lord, and never met a stranger. She would bring the gospel into peoples lives moments after meeting them, with joy. She always had a smile on her face, even when going through some very rough trials and tribulations, personally. She was saved, and a true believer in salvation by the blood of Jesus. Her joy and love for the Lord, was something to see.
We ask all the prayer warriors out there to please say a prayer for Angie Sanders's healing and peace and strength for her family (Pastor Preston and Brenda Sanders and her sister Danielle). We ask that you also pray for the young man who struck her as well to have peace. It was an accident, as there was no alcohol or drugs involved and the police said, aside from not seeing her, he did nothing wrong.
Even if she passes on we ask that a prayer be made for the loss of a loved one and that her passing be used as a miracle, just as her healing would be, to show the power and glory of the Lord.
I am terrible sorry to hear this, we just lost a familiy member to DAI (diffuse axon injury, never herad of it before this) when a motorist hit his motorcycle. The terrible decision had to be made when he did not wake up - he became an organ donor. That did NOT and does NOT make it “better” or any comfort as of yet, to have to decide to turn off life support for a family member you love- especially a child...
God Bless and hold those parents close. Don’t try to “comfort” them, just grieve with them.
PS: I HATE motorcycles. NO excuse about who is to blame- I just HATE what happen to riders when an accident happens
