With retailers, with the exception of Walmart, hurting badly in the current economic downturn, and the critical Christmas Shopping season almost upon us do we not have an opportunity to make a point with all those retailers that have banished all reference of Christmas from their "holiday merchandising"?
I am sending the message below to the marketing dept of every major store chain that I come across that has eradicated Christmas from it's stores.
I encourage you to do the same.
Maybe they'll get the message.

With the economy in the tank, I suggest you re-think your politically correct agenda and try to encourage Christmas Shopping in YOUR establishments this year.
I, and many of my friends, make a point of spending our Christmas Shopping budget where Christmas is celebrated and a festive spirit can be enjoyed. Christmas Shopping is a quintessential part of the season, and a festive, decorated, store encourages the customers to open their wallets.

85% of the nation celebrates Christmas.
You rely on November and December for 50% of your annual revenues and there is not a lot of money to go round this year.
You can ignore Christmas if you choose, it's your right to do so, and if you do, we will ignore your establishment, which is our right too.
We don't have to shop in a Godless, sterile environment.
Think about it, or you might not be around for the NEXT Christmas."

Pre-emptive strikes by the retailers: Christmas music playing and Christmas decorations have been up from around the first of November!

I realize “pay-backs” is a childish notion, but Christmas always brings out the Child in me :)
Basically the same here.
CHRIST is our CHRISTmas celebration only.
Our household rule of thumb:
Any catalogue that comes to the house regarding HOLIDAY sales
gets unopened and dumped in the garbage. This applies to email,
too.
Any shop displaying HOLIDAY or WINTER sales and special signs;
we don’t go there.
Any place that can’t say, “Merry Christmas” because if might offend
someone; we don’t go there.
Any card we receive that is not CHRIST-related gets put in the back of the large card holder. (I appreciate all who remember us at Christmas, but our
house is a celebration of Christ’s birth on earth.)
I do this at all times. My money only goes to businesses that I know to be neutral or in line with my beliefs and politics. I do not shop at Target, Costco, Whole Foods, etc. I do shop at WalMart, Sam’s Club and others that embrace Christmas, Republicans, are opposed to unions, etc.

Yep, that seems to be the only vote left that still counts.
I’ve noticed in recent years that it is increasingly hard to find Christmas cards that make any reference to Christ or Christianity. There are, however, plenty of reindeer, snowy vistas, and season’s greetings.
Yesterday, our local Ingles grocery store had a rack of Christmas cards of which more than half had, in fact, a religious motif, and I snapped them up.
I agree with the idea of selectively shopping in those stores which recognize Christmas for what it truly is.
Good idea. Yeah, I have been boycotting for well over 25 years now and will continue as much as humanly possible.

Even if it’s say a hardware store advertising insulation for winter?

One wonders whether Circuit City celebrated Christmas, or “Holiday.”
Thanks for adding to my working list. My WHOLE family is doing this this year (my family, sister's family, niece's family, etc.)! Actually, we are all big Target shoppers, so I'm interested in why they make the blacklist. I'd like an online database of companies ranked by their support for PACs and their level of PC-crap. If anyone knows of one, let me know. Otherwise, I may just make the thing.
