If you have significant contacts in your prayer chains- please take a look at this video and pass it along. It is very powerful, It behooves all Christians and Jews to stand together in these times.

Massively imporant ping for Christians. (My apologies for others, there is no time to weed you out - a little "wheat and tares" pun there, with further apologies.)

Please, please take this information, via this site or the click-thru, and get it to your Church and Christian contacts immediately -- a.s.a.p. In your email, please request that they forward it to other praying Churches and Christians.

It is critically important prayer and "consciousness raising."

Please bump and pump.

And please... pray.

I just sent this to a group of people I know who understand the power if intercessory prayer.

The commitment to prayer for this election is the strongest I’ve ever experienced. I hope more people will join the effort.

A ping to FRiends from/in Illinois. If Christian prayer is not your thing, please take this as a big prompt to spam your friends and the media with this:

...or spam them all up with something better per their individual situations!

Just one more thing.

To those who don’t think Obama’s associations are that big of a deal, look what God has to say, right there in Psalm 1! Please include this Scripture in your prayers.

Psalm 1 (NIV)
1 Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.

4 Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.

5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.

Thank you. I am praying Deuteronomy 20:1-4 “When you go to war against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army greater than yours, do not be afraid of them, because the Lord your God who brought you up out of Egypt will be with you. When you are about to go into battle, the priests shall come forward and address the army. He shall say: “Hear, O Israel, today you are going into battle against your enemies. Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not be terrified or give way to panic before them. For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you VICTORY”.

obama is in Columbia, MO tonight, speaking about an hour from now.

The lines to get to where he is speaking is mighty long, thousands of people easily.

It was like a festive attitude and I was not smiling at all.

Pray that God will turn His hand of judgement on the United States. But...if obama gets elected, that may be His starting of His judgement.

This Missouri Synod Lutheran joining in special prayer the next five days with other God-fearing folks.

Martin Luther said, "We need God's word daily as we need our daily bread. We need His word against incessant attacks and ambushes of the devil who has many ways of ambushing and destroying people."

Prayers for the people of this country that they will see the Truth, the Light and the Way.

Today's First Readings at Mass -- October 30, 2008.  Words in blue are explained below.

Reading 1
Eph 6:10-20

Brothers and sisters:
Draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power.
Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm
against the tactics of the Devil.
For our struggle is not with flesh and blood
but with the principalities, with the powers,
with the world rulers of this present darkness,
with the evil spirits in the heavens. Principalities, powers, darkness, evil spirits all refer to fallen angels or to the devil.
Therefore, put on the armor of God, armor=belief
that you may be able to resist on the evil day evil day=election day
and, having done everything, to hold your ground.
So stand fast with your loins girded in truth, while voting
clothed with righteousness as a breastplate,
and your feet shod in readiness for the Gospel of peace.
In all circumstances, hold faith as a shield,
to quench all the flaming arrows of the Evil One. who wants us to be voting for abortion
And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God. the Bible

With all prayer and supplication,
pray at every opportunity in the Spirit.
To that end, be watchful with all perseverance and supplication
for all the holy ones and also for me, Pray for the innocent babies
that speech may be given me to open my mouth,
to make known with boldness the mystery of the Gospel
for which I am an ambassador in chains, Are each of us an ambassador as St. Paul was?
so that I may have the courage to speak as I must.

I was the reader at Daily Mass today and all these thoughts (in blue) went flashing through my mind as I prepared for proclaiming this reading.  Any thoughts?

Unfortunately, a series of events (many precipitated by our own bad choices and frequent inaction over the last several decades) have conspired to give us two candidates who are really “unacceptable” from a Catholic (or even generic Christian) POV. We are reduced, then, for praying for deliverance from the calamity called “Obama” in the form of divine anointing of McCain.
McCain is certainly not worthy of any sort of heavenly anointing! His pro-life views are very soft, really. And while they’re certainly better than Obama’s disgusting - and self-trumpeted! - pro-death positions, McCain’s are never invoked unless they conveniently scroll-up on his teleprompter in front of certain crowds. His position is not heart-felt, but born of political expediency. He might not be guaranteed to seek to pack the courts against pro-life causes, but he won’t do much to ensure that the tide changes, either. he has little motivation to do so in his own philosophy, and, as a likely one-termer if he does get in, he will have little motivation from the POV of mollifying his electoral base for a second term.

It might be the case that McCain is the “lesser of two evils” and people should hold their noses and vote for him to stave off Obama. But it is a disgrace on our nation, and on “Christians” generally in this country, that we have let the Republicans give us these lousy choices again and again, and it has come to the point where we are backed into a corner and forced to implore heavenly intervention for the likes of...McCain!

This poor choice is itself a judgment on our country collectively. That we must grovel and implore intervention just to allow the lesser of two (distinct) evils says much more about us than is complementary or desirable about us. Yes, McCain needs to be supported, to forestall (yet again!) a complete free-fall into evil. But! On November 5, especially if McCain loses, but even if he wins, we Christians had better get good and busy formulating a plan to either get the Republicans back to courting (sincerely) their traditional conservative base, or laying plans to formulate a new, viable party that will achieve the same end. If we backpedal in the form of allowing a “lesser-of-two-evils” scenario to take things over again in 2012, it will be all over here.

God help us!

Miserere nobis, Domine!
