Among the most important titles we have in the Catholic Church for the Blessed Virgin Mary are Our Lady of Victory and Our Lady of the Rosary. These titles can be traced back to one of the most decisive times in the history of the world and Christendom. The Battle of Lepanto took place on October 7 (date of feast of Our Lady of Rosary), 1571. This proved to be the most crucial battle for the Christian forces against the radical Muslim navy of Turkey. Pope Pius V led a procession around St. Peters Square in Vatican City praying the Rosary. He showed true pastoral leadership in recognizing the danger posed to Christendom by the radical Muslim forces, and in using the means necessary to defeat it. Spiritual battles require spiritual weapons, and this more than anything was a battle that had its origins in the spiritual ordera true battle between good and evil.
Today we have a similar spiritual battle in progressa battle between the forces of good and evil, light and darkness, truth and lies, life and death. If we do not soon stop the genocide of abortion in the United States, we shall run the course of all those that prove by their actions that they are enemies of Godtotal collapse, economic, social, and national. The moral demise of a nation results in the ultimate demise of a nation. God is not a disinterested spectator to the affairs of man. Life begins at conception. This is an unalterable formal teaching of the Catholic Church. If you do not accept this you are a heretic in plain English. A single abortion is homicide. The more than 48,000,000 abortions since Roe v. Wade in the United States constitute genocide by definition. The group singled out for deathunwanted, unborn children.
No other issue, not all other issues taken together, can constitute a proportionate reason for voting for candidates that intend to preserve and defend this holocaust of innocent human life that is abortion.
I strongly urge every one of you to make a Novena and pray the Rosary to Our Lady of Victory between October 27th and Election Day, November 4th. Pray that Gods will be done and the most innocent and utterly vulnerable of our brothers and sisters will be protected from this barbaric and grossly sinful blight on society that is abortion. No woman, and no man, has the right to choose to murder an innocent human being.
May God grant us the wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and counsel to form our conscience in accordance with authentic Catholic teaching, and then vote that well-formed Catholic conscience.
God Bless You
Fr. John Corapi

Count my prayers, Dearest Mary, among the thousands who trust in your Grace and your promise to defeat the evil of the devil and all his snakes who plague our land.

Thanks for the links!
Here are some other quotes from Padre Pio you might like:
“Prayer is the best weapon we possess. It is the key that opens the heart of God. “
“Hold on tightly to the Rosary. Be very grateful to the Madonna because it was she who gave us Jesus.”
“Love our Lady and make her loved; always recite the Rosary and recite it as often as possible.”
“Serene in our faith and tranquil in our soul, let us pray and continue to pray, because intense and fervent prayer pierces the heavens and is backed up by a Divine guarantee.”
I like that Divine guarantee part!!

I think we need to pray, not just that McCain/Palin win, but that there will not be any civil unrest as a result. Everything, anything is possible with God’s help and through Mary’s intercession.

Thank you for the links. I am playing the first with its nice hymn concurrently (very nice Flash application).
It is apparent that our way of life will be crushed UNLESS we pray the Rosary. The Rosary is like a single vaccination that can stop a whole plague.
Some people find it possible to pray FOR a certain candidate, political party, etc. I can’t do that, because all of these humans and human institutions are a mix of good and evil and I don’t want to pray for the evil part!
It is easier for me to pray that a certain candidate DOESN’T get elected, and that his obnoxious philosophies not be enacted.
It is infinitely easier yet to pray for the precious gifts Our Lord provided — living, breathing babies and the traditional family structure to nurture and protect them.
Thanks again. I will read the Rosary tonight in Latin on the fatima.org application.

I’ve got the mp3’s from this one
http://www.praytherosarywithme.org/index.html
in my car and have been listening to it on the way to school in the morning with my daughter.
I do pray specifically for McCain/Palin, but when I’m really depressed by the thought of what might happen my prayer is simply “God help us” LOL! (I think)
Anyway, with my daughter being 13 (AAAHHHH!) there are other aspects of my life besides politics where that prayer is needed just as desperately.
I’m glad you found the links useful, I think Fr. Corapi may have finally got me started on praying the rosary every day.
Love,
O2

To: kellynla; All
For Monday, October 27th
At the behest of Father John Corapi, SOLT, and in union with a multitude of Catholics around the country we urge you to pray the Rosary with us to implore Our Lady of Victory for a pro-life result in the November 4th elections.
You may wish to begin your Rosary with this prayer: Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and all the instruments of His Holy Passion that Thou mayest put division in the camp of Thine enemies, for as Thy beloved Son hath said, a kingdom divided against itself shall fail Prayer given by Our Lord to Sister Marie de Sainte Pierre (1816-1848, Apostle of the Holy Face of Jesus), to divide and conquer revolutionary men.
Day one: Today is Monday October 27th. Please pray the Five Joyful Mysteries
1. The Annunciation
2. The Visitation
3. The Nativity
4. The Presentation
5. The Finding in the Temple
You might also wish to join Lepanto08, a national four-year Rosary campaign for the Culture of Life.

I got my email from Father Corapi and said the Election Novena Rosary this evening. But I have been saying the Rosary for Life every night this past month.
Also, I saw that EWTN has the election Novena Rosary on their program schedule. I DVR’d it since I work when it comes on during the day. I didn’t see any evening repeats, but it is repeated after its initial showing at 6 am. What I did this evening was print out the Novena and then said the Rosary for Life that I have DVR’d.
