Our sins are forgiven because Jesus died in our place for them. There's a story I was told - a young lady comes before a judge who has violated a law. She says she has no money to pay the fine. The judge gets up, takes off his robe and proceeds to go past the bar and stand beside the woman. The judge then says ‘I will pay the fine’ - he does and then goes back beyond the bar puts on his robe and sits down. He then says ‘ your fine has been paid you are free to leave’.
It's the same way, Jesus came down to pay ‘our fine’ ....
I know it's simple but .....
Respectfully Yours,
Jane
Romans 6:23 calls death the wages of sin not a fine.
There is a difference.
