"For where two or three have gathered together in My name" Matt 18:20 9/7/08

Non-Denominational Devotional/Prayer
For some time, through FReepmail, several FReepers have provided each other with a way to share prayer requests and praises. Now that the Non-denominational category has been established at Freerepublic, we are offering a weekly thread in which posts of your requests and praises are welcome. Anyone, regardless of denomination, is welcome to bring their concerns here. The one thing that we hope to establish here, is that at a set time on Sunday evening, 11:00 p.m. in the Eastern time zone, 10:00 p.m. Central time, 9:00 p.m. Mountain time, and 8:00 p.m. Pacific time, we will as a group, lift these concerns up in prayer. Individual prayer at any time is, of course, encouraged. If anyone desires to post an "anonymous" request, just word it in a manner such as: " Please lift up my prayer (or praise) for a personal concern."

He has promised to be in our midst tonight as we gather wherever we may be, as a voice in one accord, to praise Him and ask on behalf of others for His Grace to be granted to them.

As yet another dangerous hurricane approaches the Florida Keys/Southeastern United States, we pause first to pray for those in the path of the storm:
Prayer for Hurricane Season
O God, Master of this passing world, hear the humble voices of your children. The Sea of Galilee obeyed your order and returned to its former quietude; you are still the Master of land and sea. We live in the shadow of a danger over which we have no control. The Gulf, like a provoked and angry giant, can awake from its seeming lethargy, overstep its conventional boundaries, invade our land and spread chaos and disaster. During this hurricane season, we turn to You, O loving Father. Spare us from past tragedies whose memories are still so vivid and whose wounds seem to refuse to heal with the passing of time. O Virgin, Star of the Sea, Our Beloved Mother, we ask you to plead with your Son in our behalf, so that spared from the calamities common to this area and animated with a true spirit of gratitude, we will walk in the footsteps of your Divine Son to reach the heavenly Jerusalem where a storm-less eternity awaits us. Amen.
- Fr. Al Volpe, Cameron Parish, LA Originally dedicated to the victims of Hurricane Audrey in 1957.

We give thanks and pray the Lord’s blessing upon Sarah Palin and her family. As candidate for Vice President of the United States, she can have great influence upon attitudes regarding the issues of right to life, and we thank the Lord for raising up such champions in our midst. May His Angels stand guard over John McCain and Sarah Palin as they seek to lead this nation in the coming years. We pray the Lord will bless these with the wisdom to lead and protect the nation in a dangerous world.

"Thank You Father, that you have brought forth a candidate of YOUR choosing out of the race for President. Only You could bring this miracle into fruition. Praise You Holy Name ... Thank you that You hear us ... that You hear us always. In the name of Jesus Christ I thank You for Your favor on us. God bless America. Amen."

Sorry to report sad news this morning. The young woman we have been praying for has passed on. From a PM: "Amanda”
“I am sorry to say that Amanda passed away early this morning. She is at peace and not suffering any longer. She is with the Lord and whole again. Please pray for her family: Dave(father),Justin, Cole, Evan,Alex, Susan(my friend) and Tina, Amanda’s mother. Thank you so very much."
May God comfort her family. She is whole again.

Thanks for the ping.

I’ve been having trouble with Carpal-Tunnel in my hands making it very difficult to use them; they go numb and tingle and hurt when I try to do even things like cutting up food or sewing, or sometimes typing. :(

Sometimes I sleep on them wrong and the pain wakes me up.

My cholesterol is pretty high and the doctor is going to want to put me on statins which I don’t want. I’m going to try more exercise and diet (as much as I can) first.

Please pray for all this.

You are in my prayers, MM. I have neuropathy in my feet, so I can sympathize with the tingling and burning pain.

Please continue to pray for my kidney infection. I finished up the antibiotics on Friday and last night (Saturday) the pain began to return.

Do you have kidney stones maybe? Stones can be a cause of kidney infections and that could account for the pain.

I don’t know. When I was admitted to the hospital, they did a CT scan w/contrast of my abdomen. Since they didn’t mention stones at that time, I’m guessing no, but perhaps it wasn’t something that would show up. I just don’t know.

No fever, PTL!, but still pain. I put in a call earlier to the doc, but he hasn’t returned the call. Since I have no fever, I’ll wait until morning.

They should be checking for stones.

I’d ask if I were you. My daughter had kidney stones and they showed up on a CAT scan that was done for her appendix and they never told her.

Later when she passed them and ended up in the ER, the technician mentioned that she had two stones before and now only one was showing.

The doctor told us that they often don’t mention seeing them because they are so common and most people aren’t bothered by them. I was ticked, especially with mr. mm’s family history; they have a tendency to pass them.

Thank you M...

Psa 103:1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy name.

Psa 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:

Psa 103:3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

Psa 103:4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

Psa 103:5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103:1-5

In the lovely Name of Jesus...

AMEN

Red yeast rice is similar to lipitor. It’s a supplement. Maybe you could try that as well. M

Lord, please watch over Sarah Palin and her family as they are assailed by vicious rumors and lies daily. Give her the strength, O God, to remain in the task You have set for her, and protect her family from the harm now attempted by the servants of the evil one.

Watch over our great nation, O Lord, and the soldiers in our military who provide us with peace and hope. You know, Lord, that there are soldiers in Your service who battle for us in ways that do not require planes and tanks and infantry, but who put their lives on the line for us in other ways every day. Be with ALL of them, we pray.

Amen.

After years of experimenting, I’ve found that Icy Hot rubbed in and putting on a pair of socks helps more than anything. Some nights nothing works, but good old Icy Hot usually does...my kids hate the smell though...That’s probably how they will remember me after I’m gone, the smell of my foot remedy ;)

I can’t do rice. It bothers me for some reason and I really don’t feel well when I eat it.

I’ve heard niacin is supposed to be good as well and am going to look into that. I read something about niacin flush and looked up the side effects of niacin overdose and the symptoms sounded strangely familiar. I need to look into that as well.

I also have an appointment with a dietitian later in the week and hopefully might be able to pin down what’s causing some of these food reactions. If I can do that, I ought to be able to expand my diet some.

I just found out a few minutes ago that my niece’s son was found dead. Apparently an ATV rolled over him and broke his neck. Please pray for Nancy. She just lost her husband very suddenly two years ago. He died of a heart attack (in his 40’s) and she found him in the yard. Now her son has died. I don’t know if she really knows the Lord or not.

I don’t think it’s really traditional rice. They call it that but ask a nutritionist about it if you think it’s a problem. Dieticians don’t usually know much about supplements. Nutritionists do.

I wish you the very best of luck in finding out what’s causing this. I’m going to the doctor myself next week and asking him to recommend an allergist. The allergies make me feel worse than my kidney failure does, LOL.
