For some time, through FReepmail, several FReepers have provided each other with a way to share prayer requests and praises. Now that the Non-denominational category has been established at Freerepublic, we are offering a weekly thread in which posts of your requests and praises are welcome. Anyone, regardless of denomination, is welcome to bring their concerns here. The one thing that we hope to establish here, is that at a set time on Sunday evening, 11:00 p.m. in the Eastern time zone, 10:00 p.m. Central time, 9:00 p.m. Mountain time, and 8:00 p.m. Pacific time, we will as a group, lift these concerns up in prayer. Individual prayer at any time is, of course, encouraged. If anyone desires to post an "anonymous" request, just word it in a manner such as: " Please lift up my prayer (or praise) for a personal concern."
He has promised to be in our midst tonight as we gather wherever we may be, as a voice in one accord to praise Him and ask on behalf of others, for His Grace to be granted to them.
We open this thread with prays for those uprooted, displaced, or assaulted by the hurricane about to make landfall on Monday afternoon. May the Lord watch over His and bring them through the storm able to recover life. May He send His angels to comfort families affected by this raging storm. And we pray the Lord will touch the hearts of those who can help to gather their blessings and come to the aid of their fellow sojourners.
Prayer for Hurricane Season
O God, Master of this passing world, hear the humble voices of your children. The Sea of Galilee obeyed your order and returned to its former quietude; you are still the Master of land and sea. We live in the shadow of a danger over which we have no control. The Gulf, like a provoked and angry giant, can awake from its seeming lethargy, overstep its conventional boundaries, invade our land and spread chaos and disaster. During this hurricane season, we turn to You, O loving Father. Spare us from past tragedies whose memories are still so vivid and whose wounds seem to refuse to heal with the passing of time. O Virgin, Star of the Sea, Our Beloved Mother, we ask you to plead with your Son in our behalf, so that spared from the calamities common to this area and animated with a true spirit of gratitude, we will walk in the footsteps of your Divine Son to reach the heavenly Jerusalem where a storm-less eternity awaits us. Amen.

We give thanks and pray the Lord’s blessing upon a champion in Sarah Palin for the little ones. As candidate for Vice President of the United States, she can have great influence upon attitudes regarding the issues of right to life, and we thank the Lord for raising up such champions in our midst. May His Angels stand guard over John McCain and Sarah Palin as they seek to lead this nation in the coming years. We pray the Lord will bless these with the wisdom to lead and protect the nation in a dangerous world.

I just got a call from my friend. They spoke with Amanda’s mom. She has not gone to DC yet and now they say she won’t be. Her organs are shutting down. The hospital wants them to do a DNR. I told her that miracles can happen. They cannot do a DNR! My SO, thank God, did not have one. The doctors told me to come to say “good-bye” almost 10 years ago. He is still here! They would have let him die if he or I had signed one.
Could you please pray for her? I am praying here and I kow that He hears us all."
Let us all pray for Amanda and her family...God, You know what is best for this child. We lift her up to You, that Your grace will be with her. If it be Thy will, let Your healing hand bless her. Amen

Please pray for my sister-in law she has been having seizures and a MRI found anomalies in her temporal lobes ... she gets the results of her tests tomorrow thanks.

I work for a company that is going through a major downsizing and a very dear friend will have her position eliminated. Also, several others will be laid off.
This is not a life or death matter, but these people’s lives will be changed. Please, if you will, pray that my friend and the others will be okay.

My friend Brian came to church today, all bound up and in a wheelchair but looking great. We thank God for all He did to get him there. He still has a long way to go. His wife is going to the hospital on the 28th to deliver their baby. Please pray all goes well and there are no complications.
My DIL [daughter-in-law] is doing better as well. Please pray for her to have a grateful heart and to learn to love the Lord with all her heart.
I went to the transplant center Wednesday and it looks like all things are go if a kidney is available. Pray for God’s peace in this and all other situations.

Our beloved Freeper, Trueblackman, is need of our prayers. Let’s keep our fellow freeper in our prayers tonight.
I have Ovarian Cancer, stage 3 with luck and go to surgery Monday [surgery was 08/18/08, I think].
It is usually in late stages when diagnosed because of the vague symptoms which I wrote off because I thought I was just getting old.

I want to thank Jesus Christ for the rapid healing of my grandson who was in a vehicle accident last week. [Riding a motor scooter without a helmet!]Through the prayers of the ND FReeper thread and other individuals, my grandson is a walking miracle!
Thanks to all of you who said prayers for his recovery!

Still having problems with food but I’m able to test new things once in a while and am increasing what I can eat.
I had a physical last week and the EKG showed a change. Could be something, could be nothing; but I’ll be going for further testing just to find out for sure.

Looks like Gustav is bending a little more to the west and has weakened some. It’s a 3 now and looks to make landfall as a three instead of a 4.
It still seems to be moving pretty slow though so there’s still a lot of potential for a lot of damage. The rainfall amounts could be pretty high and there’s the potential for lots of flooding because of the length of time the storm is over them.

We, (my wife and I) are about to embark on a long awaited path. That of creating a family. Due to medical reasons this will require IVF. Age may be a factor and with the news centering on Sarah Palin's son Trig it has created extra anxiety. I would ask for those who would, pray that the Lord will calm our fears and..well hold our and the doctors hands.
Thank you for the clean-up on this aisle.

Emergency prayer request....
There’s a missing four year old boy in one of the local Syracuse communities. He’s been gone for over 2 hours, he snuck out of the house when no one was looking. They have helicopter searches going on.
Lord, we are of one voice seeking your protection for this little one. Lord, we ask that you place an Angelic hedge about this child, to protect and preserve the life of this little one and return this child to those who love and protect. Squelch the mind of evil that may be endangering this little one. In your name as one voice we ask for the safe deliverance of this little one

I’d like to add something else to the prayer list.
Last Tuesday I developed a rather severe kidney infection. I was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday to receive antibiotics intravenously. I’ve since been released but am still feeling pretty poorly. If y’all could hold this before the Throne of Grace I’d be mighty appreciative.
We are covering you both in prayer. Do not fear a Downs child. They bring much joy, even if there are sometimes health problems. They’re wonderful children. One of my friends had one and she has grown to be a very precious part of our lives as well as her family’s. She is now 23 and has more love in her heart than you can imagine. Love, M
Guard their hearts. May they seek You in faith, as they seek him. Amen.
