Where do you stand on this pre trib, mid trib or post trib and why.
Do not leave out the little tiny phrases in any part of scripture. when the Bible says this is the resurrection, its the first resurrection. Period.
“where you of a different position before? And if so what changed your position?” During the charismatic movement of the 70s I accepted pre trib doctrine as gospel, like most everyone seemed to do at the time. I’ve since changed my thinking on a number of things, one of them being when the rapture will occur. My arguments for a post trib rapture are no different than what you can easily find on the Internet. I’m not saying that to dodge your questions, but plenty of folks have laid out post trib arguments much better than I can. (Follow Christ. Love your neighbors as you love yourself, and love your Christian brothers and sisters as Jesus does). God grant me the ability to follow that advise, and not get distracted. Pre trib, post trib, historicist arguments have been going on for a very long time, and most of the people who have made them are dead now, making this a moot debate, at least for them. As fun as tribulation differences may be, the truly important thing is being with Jesus when this is all over.
I like the Post Tribune myself.
And pre-mid-day, I like Post Toasties.
I basically agree with you. Especially the “endless” part. That is why I merely supplied a link and a brief comment. I did learn though, about 15 years ago, that my walk with the Lord seems to be more “intense” when studying this stuff. It’s hard to explain.
Nevertheless, there is a difference between “studying” and “arguing”.
I'll second that. Pre-wrath, at the last (7th) trumpet.
1 Corinthians 15:50 I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.
1 Thess 4:15 According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
Rev. 10:7 But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets."
Rev. 11:15 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever." 16 And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17saying: "We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign. 18The nations were angry; and your wrath has come. ,The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your saints and those who reverence your name, both small and great and for destroying those who destroy the earth."
Great post. FWIW, I have reason to believe the elders may not be men, but are a body whose judgment and recommendations are a significant issue in the angelic conflict.
I suspect either they or a body of counterfeit elders resides in heaven today judging things of spiritual significance regarding the angelic orders, but are not yet convinced as to the status of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.
In Revelation, when they are singing Holy, Holy, Holy before the Lord, they have telegraphed a decision for the angelic domain to respect legitimate authority of God in all things and the authority of the Son of God.
This is simply my understanding at present, but I haven’t found much in Scripture regarding them. Accordingly, insofar as we are concerned, it probably isn’t mcuh of our business at present, but they are a significant body, which I haven’t fully seen how or why, but simply leave all things to glorify Him through our faith in Christ.
Israel is God's timepiece. His covenants establish promises of future behavior between the parties of the contract.
That's exactly what I mean -- it's piecing things together like that when there's no context taken into consideration.
God will not remove His people from the world during this time. He will protect them in the world.
1. This is the point of God sealing the saints in Revelation 7:3. (Note that the sealing takes place before the winds of judgment are released. See 7:1).
2. Also cf. Revelation 3:10Because you have kept [Greek tereo] the word of My perseverance, I also will keep [tereo] you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. I am coming quickly; hold fast what you have, so that no one will take your crown.
3. Question: How will Jesus do this?
4. Note how this verb is used in John 17:15I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep [tereo] them from the evil one.
(thanks Dave)
Being here during Gods wrath and suffering the wrath are not the same things.
Not even the destruction of Jerusalem, that occurred within the time frame specified by Jesus -- "this generation" and John -- "soon?" (Rev. 1:1-3).
Why is it that the folks addicted to fortune -telling always assume that the prognostications refer to their own generation? Perhaps,, inflated self-importance. How could an event as earth-shaking as the Second Coming happen at any time other than my own?
Very good outline.
:23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
00526 13:24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
00527 13:25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
00528 13:26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
00529 13:27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
Now one might try to argue that it says heaven and earth and it does but ewe must remember that Paul stated that absent from the body is presence with the Lord. So there are the spiritual and physical believers being gathered together to have their new incorruptible bodies.
No time in history has mankind advanced more than in the generation living since the recognition of Israel as a nation. In Daniel it is stated this time would come to pass. Up till the past one or two decades many prophecies such as the world witnessing the streets of Jerusalem at the same time was impossible. THe destruction of Israel occured as such right after Christ. Up till 1948 the land was fairly desolate and stayed as such for almost 2000 years. Now she prospers. Will she be attacked again? Yes indeed that day as well is coming too. I don't call it fortune telling I call it putting such things as the parables as related to custom in context like the Wedding Feast and Wedding. If the parable wasn't important the Lord would not have said it.
Nobody knows when it will happen but we are given specific things to watch for.
I like your tag line :>}
You have my sincere sympathy. I’ve been where you are — and lost several crucial years at the beginning of my vocational trajectory as a result. I know from the inside what an addictive poison the lust to peek into the future can be — even if it’s God’s own Word one is using as his ouija board. Check out my tagline, and ask yourself when you want to get out of the “losers” column, and begin really living fully, joyously, and fruitfully for the glory of the King.
I think bodies have that stuff so we’re not ever bored. Definitely pro.
