"For where two or three have gathered together in My name" Matt 18:20 (

Posted by svcw For some time, through FReepmail, several FReepers have provided each other with a way to share prayer requests and praises. Now that the Non-denominational category has been established, we are offering a weekly thread in which posts of your requests and praises are welcome. Anyone, regardless of denomination, is welcome to bring their concerns here. The one thing that we hope to establish here, is that at a set time on Sunday evening, 11:00 p.m. in the Eastern time zone, 10:00 p.m. Central time, 9:00 p.m. Mountain time, and 8:00 p.m. Pacific time, we will as a group, lift these concerns up in prayer. Individual prayer at any time is, of course, encouraged. If anyone desires to post an "anonymous" request, just word it in a manner such as: " Please lift up my prayer (or praise) for a personal concern." Additional anonymity can be gained by sending a request or praise to svcw via FReepmail.

Matthew 18: 19 - 20
18:19 I also solemnly tell you that if two of you here on earth agree together concerning anything whatever that they shall ask, the boon will come to them from my Father who is in Heaven.
18:20 For where there are two or three assembled in my name, there am I in the midst of them."
[Weymouth New Testament]

I have several versions of the Bible on my computer, none of which translate these two verses differently enough to create any controversy, so in the name of non-denominational gathering I intend to use many of them in coming weeks to start this prayer session in His Presence.

A promise from God is more certain to be fulfilled than the sun is to rise tomorrow. With that in our minds, let us gather together across this world to meet in His name, the name of our Savior Jesus, to petition Him for the needs of others, in the certainty that He is in our midst as we pray.

Prayer Request Listing for August 3, 2007; non-Denominational Prayer Thread

From freeper Lady, cgk, we have this prayer thread at FR ( http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2053813/posts ) which we are privileged to include in our petitions; we do not know what God has in mind when this happens to a beautiful innocent little one, but we know that He loves them and they are not out of His sight, yet suffering is not something that can always be avoided else He would have avoided the cross. So let us remember the Mother and Father of Baby G as they go through this valley of sorrow with their beautiful little daughter:
Baby "G" has an enlarged heart, and one of her lungs is smaller than the other. Her mother, my friend, told me the CAT scan "doesn't look good". They've been giving her extra oxygen to try to inflate the smaller lung. Her lungs have fluid in them, and the latest test will be a biopsy to test the fluid & determine the cause. This is as best I can recall from what I was told, and if something here doesn't make sense, consider it my own error.
This precious baby is still smiling at her mama and is such a trooper while the doctors poke & prod her to find out the cause of her condition. Her mother is hanging on to hope, but she could use some additional prayers to help strengthen her resolve. She is afraid as any parent would be for her daughter not knowing what the prognosis is for her.
Please if you can find a moment to send them both your prayers, especially to Baby "G". She's a precious little darling who already has brought so much happiness to her family. Thank you very much.

And this frightening update:
Last night was a dark & difficult one resulting in Baby "G" needing to be fully resuscitated. She was thankfully stabilized, praise the Lord, yet remained critical through the night. My friend was obviously beside herself with fear and pain for Baby G. Her husband, Baby "G"s daddy, came to the hospital immediately, leaving their other 2 children with family so they could be with their daughter together.
This morning they moved Baby "G" from one room in the PICU to another to keep her closer to the doctors and nurses. And my friend reports with renewed optimism that they had a "good day today." They are taking "baby steps" and she is trying to be strong for her baby. She thanked me again for all of your prayers and offers of assistance. She doesn't know where she would be without the outpouring of love they are receiving.
I truly believe that your generous outpouring of prayers and love have provided Baby "G" and her family with yet more moments with each other. After last night's scare, today was a genuine miracle for their family.
And with cgk and Pegita’s indulgence, I would like to post the short but so powerful prayer from prayer warrior Pegita, that we may join with this exquisite request for Baby G:
To: cgk
May it be, Merciful Father, that despite the nightmare of crisis upon crisis, Baby “G” and her family will truly sense the Comfort of Your Presence, for You have promised to be with them always, even unto the end of the age (Matthew 28:20). Fill them with hope and encouragement, strength and faith, for of such is Your love. And grant unto them the desire of their hearts, O God ... touch their precious one and heal her, in the Name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen ...
Posted Sunday, August 03, 2008 6:35:42 PM by Pegita ('Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take Him at His word ...)

And in freepmail we learn freeper svcw is about to have her grandson delivered tonight or tomorrow …
From svcw | 08/03/2008 3:24:13 PM PDT
Well, I just came from the hospital Deb is doing well. The docs are absolutely baffled by this high alkaline number there are zero other test supporting anything wrong. The baby has been tested to the hilt and the pedi said he is fine to be born today or tomorrow. So Induction will start in about an hour.
The specialist has theorized that Debs high number is a result of wacko hormones from pregnancy.
So my prayer is that labor will be swift and as pain free as possible.
Tomorrow another grandson wooohoooo.
WooHoo indeed! Thanks be to God.

And now, if any have a request, we are about to gather in His name and count the blessing of His Promise to be in our midst ...

We pray for the Lord’s Peace that passes all understanding to descend and hold the wife, children, and close friends of Tony Snow in their days of grief and feelings of loss. When I heard of Tony’s passing, I was struck with a feeling of the enigma of it when we in America are so desperately in need of public figures who are genuinely good men, good Christian men. But the following teaching from Paul did comfort me:
I Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. Pray for the Lord‘s Peace to overshadow Jill and the boys. [I wonder what Tony Snow and Tim Russert will be talking about in Heaven given this past week of astonishments in politics?]

Due to a snafu we missed our Monday Devotional thread ... it was an 'I got it, you take it' sort of mix up.

The thread is open for requests ... or, take private requests into your 'prayer closet of the heart' when we gather at eleven PM to be in His Presence.

My daughter in law had her foot operated on and is doing pretty well. The car was totalled. I dread to think what might have happened had she not been in an SUV.

My friend Brian, who was in an accident a couple of weeks ago, had to have a series of surgeries to repair the elbow, broken into 20 pieces, broken hip and broken leg (where the bones broke through the skin. He is in rehab now and doing okay. Lots of pain sometimes, though. His wife is expecting in a month. Please pray for them for finances and strength. I’m sure he won’t be a wonderful patient when he gets home, LOL. She needs special grace to care for him and their three, soon to be four children.

Just read another update about friend Brian from his wife. He’s in a lot of pain. Visits today did not go well with the children—I think it’s the first time they’ve seen him since the accident. The youngest one refused to go near him. His wife is having serious swelling of her legs and is afraid the doctor will try to induce the birth. Please pray that the swelling will go down and all will be well and baby can stay where he/she is until it’s really time. Thanks everyone.

It has been suggested that we pray each Sunday evening for our nation. It is said that prayer changes things. Certainly our nation now deeply into the evils of abortion, pornography, drugs, crime, etc. needs changes, and if we pray for change perhaps we will see these things change without the further corrosion of America that Barack Hussein Obama will bring. A man who will not allow even the vote to outlaw post abortion infanticide is too far from God’s heart to be worthy as leader of America.

While it is a fact that we the people need to pray for our suffering nation, it is also the intention of this weekly thread that we gather in His name to petition for the specific individual needs of those for whom we care.

"Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him." Job 1:4-5

Prayer up for those who suffer, those who are in fear or need, those who live between anxiety and hope: Lord, graciously hear us.

I have joyous news tempered by some unfortunate diagnostic information.

My wife, the luscious Rambette, is carrying our fourth child, due sometime around February 15th. The problem is she's now been to the emergency room twice for spotting. Both times turned out to be no danger of a miscarriage, but we were told there may be some separation of the placenta. That means that it can be expected to either resolve itself, or it could conceivably get worse and result in miscarriage.

We are trusting God and we covet your prayers for full healing and a safe, healthy delivery.

My cousin Kevin and his wife Lane are experiencing simultaneous major medical problems. Lane has been caring for Kevin since one of his kidneys failed this spring, his condition has worsened and he has been diagnosed with a form of leukemia (Myelodysplasia with refractory anemia with excess blast) and now Lane has been diagnosed with colon cancer.

Please keep them both in your prayers as they struggle under this double burden.

My cousin Cathy is on her way to help and could use prayers for strength also.

Almighty Father, please heal the sick and make them whole, strengthen the weak, comfort the grieving, and provide for the needs of all who are remembered here, as is Thy will, and to Thy greater Glory. I ask this in Jesus’ Holy Name, Amen.
