Aargh! My denomination is at it again. Now I understand why one of the biggest PCUSA churches in my Pittsburgh area successfully voted to disaffiliate last year.
They also voted for a $2 million litigation fund to be used against the EPC.
The PCUSA has an accurate name, they are very PC and members should leave the national/international people running this fiasco.
Stay with them and sink into depravity.
Pleading for unity,
People keep pushing their agenda on our church and we are supposed to be quiet and put a smile on our faces “for unity”.
>> But with discussion on ordination standards having gone on for 30 years, the Rev. Susan Fisher of Pacific Presbytery felt “compelled” to advance the amendment to the presbyteries to “let the wider church decide if now is the time to change the standards. <<
Now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now? How about now?
She probably sounds a lot like she’s hawling cell phones.
(For those not in the know, GCC is a rather conservative school that, at least for the moment, is affiliated with PCUSA)
the PCUSA Lost 50,000 members in 2007 & 2008. most were single women. they tend to stay long enough to get membership.
proper sons of the pcusa don’t go to church after high school. they see the mutual contempt which the pastors and their fathers hold of one another and stay away.
Why does this sound so strangely familiar...
I think on the PCUSA website she even said something to the effect of “it probably won’t get passed for another XX years”, but lets give the church a chance to vote on it anyway. (As they did back in 2004 and 2000 I think!)
Oh - and not only to vote on it, but to argue, fight, distress, divide,.... all in the name of “unity”.
It's no different that trying to convince a Democrat they must choose between their party or Christ. They kill babies, promote homosexuality, fight prayer, fight the very mention of God in the arena of ideas, yet they say it it possible to love Christ and be a Democrat. The last few verses in Romans 1 are "in your face" that you only have to approve of sin to be guilty of the sin. How can anyone versed in Scripture not know homosexuality is a sin? How can we watch Rev Wright and ask how Obama could sit there for 20 years, and then sit in their own church for 20 years listening to apostasy? Obama's church isn't the only church teaching error in America.
Classic.
Never yet met a Catholic who "cursed Scripture". In fact, the Catholic Church has a better "handle" on Scripture than any Protestant denomination. After all, they compiled it (and didn't leave any of it out, either).
At the end of the day, having irreversibly split the church and trashed its doctrine, Satan and his gay followers will walk away saying “I never believed in any of that stuff, anyway...”
Concur. Well stated.
” rubbing your face in it. Everyone must make a choice to claim Christ. You chose the world or Christ. He isn’t of this world. This is no different that talking to Catholics. You can quote Scripture till you are blue in the face and they defend their denomination and curse Scripture.”
ROTFL!
Paraphrasing LOONEY TUNEs and Bugs Bunny: “What a Maroonist thing to say!”

Perhaps you should check that former PCUSA church out?
Or even consider one of the following:
Providence Presbyterian Church (PCA)
First Reformed Presbyterian Church (PCA)
City Reformed Presbyterian Church (PCA)
Covenant Presbyterian (OPC)
This may be the answer to your long standing question.
