Good decision but he will now be perceived as some sort of martyr.
Not if he is removed to a remote parish somewhere in the boonies.
One of the biggest eye openers for me in RCIA was that these Pastors are really employees. The boss speaks and they must listen.
Perceived as some sort of martyr to whom?
Finally?
Rev. Phleger has been openly supporting and promoting an open and strong public advocate of abortion and infanticide, intrinsically evil crimes, so serious that they warrant excommunication.
Cardinal George needs to demand that he either publicly denounce his support for Obama and all other death-lovers, or begin formal excommunication proceedings.
Last time they tried to re-locate him to another parish he rallied his parishioners to petition for him to stay.
And, he won.
He’s absolutely disgusting.
I’m really glad Cdl George did this. I think the only people who will perceive him as a “martyr” are the flakes at the Rev Wright’s church and the loonies he has no doubt cultivated at St Sabina’s for 30 years. And who cares what they think?
I’m sure we’ll hear howling from him, too; he already announced that because the video came out, it meant you “couldn’t speak your mind in George Bush’s America,” or something to that effect. Of course you can speak your mind - but that doesn’t mean people have to put up with the garbage you say, a point that seems to be lost on Pfleger.
Remember George Stallings in DC. He was finally disciplined (only after he got married, IIRC) and left and set up his very own church. And who even thinks about him or his “church” now? Nobody!
